thoughts on head snowboards

A friend of mine just picked one up for a good price and im not real familiar with them. I have never really heard anything about them besides just the name. Shes new to the sport so i want to make sure she has good gear.

Sorry this is late, Head makes pretty good skis.. I believe they are newer into the snowboard world. I would personally recommend Burton. Not because everyone rides em, but because I've had such an awesome time with mine. I've used a couple different brands and Burton has really stuck out. Also, you don't see many/if any pros riding Head. Tons of pros ride Burton.

burton has deep pockets...thats why a lot of pro's ride burton.

if she's new to snowboarding then she'll be just fine for a year or two on ANY board as long as its the right size.

True, Burton does have deep pockets. But so does head. Head has plenty of pro skiers. That's where head has been successful, in the ski world. And Burton makes plenty of well rounded boards.. Not saying Burton is the only brand i'd recommend, just my personal favorite. Most of their "low end" boards, which still are great boards, are the all-round, park/free-ride boards.

And ya, wtrgrl has a pretty sick car.

As long as it is the right length and has a forgiving flex she will be fine on it.

Head makes a pretty stiff board, make sure that it is the proper size for her. If it is too long, and super stiff, the board could give her fits. Generally I wouldn't recommend Head, but if it was a good deal, it's the right size, and she is a beginner looking to save some $$, then it should be OK. There are so many good board companies out there creating good, female specific boards right now, Burton being one, but also K2, GNU, Rossignol, ect...

I've heard good things about the female Flow boards and Roxy boards too.
