Anybody have pics or can describe their tow-able slider set-up?? I'm building one now, 2 tubes, PVC over the top the width of the wake, 2x4s in the PVC, tow rope on each tube.. Will it work??

There is a towable slider in Counterfeit This. Its only shown in one scene when Harf hits it. Its not very large at all, but I think its a great idea.

It would be pretty hard to build a 100' towable slider :-)

Towable slider we built in Montana in 2004. Same concept as above... two large tubes, plywood discs, and 2x4's to connect the two.

Kevbo.. im sure Sparky will post some pics. Its not a tube to tube slider but its pretty sweet looking. Built on a smaller boat and towable to where ever you wanna put it.

I'll give you a hand Kev. I could use some time working somewhere other than "Geek City."

I've been working on drawing up a design myself, was even figuring out away to use a quick release device so you would not get run over if you went off the front. Love to collaberate with you guys on this if you do build one.

sparky - once you tow that thing out there, how do you anchor it?
Old     (wake_upppp)      Join Date: Nov 2003       09-13-2006, 6:18 PM Reply
Matt, I have three cement anchors each with 100 feet of rope, I hang two off the transom hooks and one off the front hook and it stays put. It's for sale by the way.

Hey Mike or Dave, How long of a rope do you use? Have you ever fallen off the front and got hit by the slider? Have the water cops ever had a problem with it towing a slider??
Old     (mjmurphy53711)      Join Date: Mar 2004       09-23-2006, 2:58 PM Reply
its legal to use a floating slider as long as you take it down each day, falls under the same terms as anchoring your boat for the afternoon.

That's cool, what about my other questions??
Old     (isler)      Join Date: Apr 2003       09-23-2006, 4:57 PM Reply
Kevbo - as far as rope length, it depends on the width of the slider. You want to adjust the rope longer or shorter to find the sweet spot, where the wake is the right width for the slider. Yeah, I saw a few riders get run over by it, going over the front. No injuries though... but definitely build it as carefully as possible. No exposed nails on the bottom or anything. No problem with the cops, as it was on a private lake.

Kevin,

I told you I'd help you put it together. ...

... Since you didn't take me up on the offer, do I still get to try it?
Old     (spunnnn)      Join Date: Jun 2006       10-01-2006, 8:33 AM Reply
Ya, we'll get on it. I'm on a strict budget so the 10' $20 TREX is on hold. So far I'm in about $30 on this project.
Old     (timsown)      Join Date: May 2005       10-01-2006, 7:48 PM Reply
Dude, buy the Trex...I'll cover the cost. So are we riding in the rain this week?
