Hello all,

My first post here... so be nice. I'm picking up a '92 nautique. Will be fitting it with a Monster MT1 tower.

I need to get a cover for it, and wanted to hear from folks with experience... Does a standard boat cover work assuming the tower is folded down, under the cover?

I know you can get a cover with cut-outs for the tower, but I was just wondering if anyone uses a standard cover, or if by having a tower, really your only choice is a cover with cut-outs?

Thanks for your input.

So excited... I'll be getting back into wakeboarding after 9 years! I started back when the Neptune Six was the best board on the market! See if anyone remembers that one... LOL

get a ciover with cut-outs. it's the easiest way. The cost diff is insignificant.

The way many towers fold down will create too much lift in either the front or the rear of the boat for a standard cover to fit properly. I do know of some people that have picked up cheaper oversized covers to help with this issue, either by leaving the tower up or down.

My family had a custom tarp made, cost around $800 (I'm pretty sure this is on the expensive side) but it then had cut outs with velcro, plastic clips, the whole tarp ratchet system and it was also made of high grade material with appropriate breathers and a water limitting lift bar. Check out your options and ask around. Some local guys have really great quality work.

You can have any cover modified to fit around the tower legs. Cost me like $50 when I had it done to a stock MC cover years ago.

A little off topic, but the easier a tower fold down, the less sturdy they tend to be. Monster has great service.... because they need it.

Get a standered cover and take it to a uplyster shop. And get them to modify it to fit around your tower. I had a friend do it but I'm not sure how much they charged but it wasn't much.

I would just add that definitely don't skimp on the cover. They are a great investment to protect the rest of your investment! Invaluable.
