I have a MC x1 2007 with 1100lbs factory ballast. I want to add extra weight for more wake. should I add in bow or stern?

I would pull the stock hard tanks in the rear, replace them with 750lbs sacs.... add the "U" shaped bow sac in the front

~800 lbs. I doubt you can get it completely full though, I would expect 650 out of it.

MC's love weight in the back, if you switch to bags you can get the x2 bags or the xstar rear sacs (from flyhigh) and then just plumb in a bigger front bag (or just keep a little bit of extra weight up in the front with lead or sand).

I'm going to disagree
X-1's/205V's love bow weight.

I agree with Nick. Bow weight is where it's at in that boat.

I agree with Nick and Travis. Piggyback the Fly High Integrated Bow Sac (650lbs.) with your center sac. I have also found that putting a Fly High Tube Sac (370lbs.) in the walk way does wonders to the wake. I also suggest putting at least the Fly High V Drive sacs (400lbs. each) in the rear lockers. Just my opinion.

i have the same hull and i'm pretty sure i've got that ride dialed in perfectly. you definitely need bow weight!!!

in my eyes you have a couple options:
1. if bow space not an issue then: put the 750's in the back (auto), 350 in ski locker (auto), and the 1100 bow wedge up front(manual). (integrated bow sac is not enough). this setup is superb and will make even the "wake hungry" riders happy.

2. if bow space is an issue then go with the integrated sac (auto). it only get's to 350, so if you don't have people up there you'll only want to fill your rear ones to about 500 each.

3. if you want to make the wake insane then go with: 750's in the rear (auto), 600 behind drivers seat (manual), 350 ski locker (auto), 600 on top of ski locker in walkway (manual), 350 integrated bow sac (auto), 1100 bow wedge (manual). the wake is huge, hard, and very well shaped.

sorry that i didn't give you an option that leaves your factory ballast alone. i'm not sure what the weight of the stock rear factory ballast on that boat is? if i assume that it has center and rear ballast for factory, and the center bag is 350...that would mean your rear ballast is only 375 a piece?

if this is true, and if you only want to add 1 bag, then i think i would get a big mamma jamma (Fly High Pro-X 750 Lbs) and put that sucker right in the middle of your boat (lengthwise).

Just start adding weight. I usually kept it pretty even when I had mine. I used to run lead and water so I didn't kill my storage space. start with 300 under the front seats and 150 in each of the rear compartments. It still may need another 300 sac in the walk through. That'll get it pretty decent without going totally over board.

Add from there. Go too much in the rear and you'll make the wake curl. We always had trouble with that hull curling one wake before the other. We had 3 boats that all did the same thing.

Have fun.. that is a GREAT hull. I sometimes miss mine.
