My brother put together a video made up of pictures our web cam takes each day at 1:00 You can see the lake rise and fall some times as much as a 4 feet in one day. You can see in November the lake drop's way down to the 5 year low. Normaly the lake only drops down 10 or so feet in the winter. Enjoy

G, what is causing the water to go up and down so much? Is there a Dam or Electric Plant that uses that water? We have a few like that here in NC, but it is regulated based on what the Nuclear/Electric Plants use.

BTW, the lake houses there where yours is are inexpensive! Up here at Lake Gaston, a house like yours would run 4 Mil + easy! A mobile home on a water front lot run 500K.

Wow, that's crazy. Kerr Lake is never at a constant level because it feeds Gaston, but I've never seen anything like in the vid!

The lake is regulated. They lower the lake each winter. The normal winter level is like 5-to 10 feet lower than the summer hi. Every 5 years they lower the lake a additional 15-20 feet lower than the normal winter low. They work on the dam during this time. It also allows people to work on their dock's/cut back the bank's. It sure is weird to see the lake so low.

Nice job Brad. It's interesting to see how the hydrilla (sp) starts to show up in July and Aug. I hope this kills all the weeds for years to come.
