First board

Hey guys, i'm new here and trying to get into this wakeboarding thing. I've been slaloming for awhile now, and wanted to try something new. I got a board as a gift a couple years ago(pretty sure it was from walmart) and I can get up occassionally with difficulty but have very little stability once on the water. I'm thinking the problem is board being too small so I wanting to purchase a solid beginning wakeboard.

I'm 6'1" and 205 lbs. I guess, i'd be considered a recreational user. I just want something that is durable, easy to ride and somewaht inexpensive. Any recommendations?

i would say the 140 or 144. Its a nice board to learn on and if you ever want to go a little more advanced it want stop your progression. I'm also 6'1" and 205 and pretty much a beginner (have only wakeboarded about 5 or 6 times). I bought a brand new (2006 closeout/blem)obrien player 143 for $129 shipped and then some closeout bindings for another $60 or so.

I've tried two other boards and the Player seems to be the perfect length and width for me. I wish it was feather-light like my obrien buzz (old-school foam core board) but oh well.

So Dicks Sporting Goods is having a pretty badass sale,
I can get a LF Stance 142 w/ bindings for 179.99, or LF Omega 143 for 239.99... any thoughts/ comments for the beginner. Is the Omega more of an intermediate board or would it be ok for a beginner as well?

So I went with the Stance 142 based on the reviews and advice of the knowledgeable salesman (who could have very well upsold me)... any free videos I can download to learn the basics? I read all the articles and instructional tidbits, any other links yall can give?

I'm 507 185 I just received my stance 142 with onset bindings from dj sports on ebay for 200.00 I love the board and bindings. I hear the book is very good I think my wife bought me the set for my b-day.

I watch many of the videos (the local surf and ski store rents them for 5.00) Counterfeit this is awesome.

Kyle, The Omega is a great board to start on. And if you watch any older videos you can see Ben Greenwood throw down on it. That board will stay with you through your progression. When LF first released it it retailed for like $370 or so. This also comes usually in a package deal this year, comes with either the Element or the Sphynx both really quality bindings. I would recomend it.
