looking on going on a "WakeBoard" Trip

maybe Mt. Pleasant Area since theres also a casino.

are there any lakes up there that are decent depth and calm water?

I grew up in that area. I wish I still lived there for the water, not much here in aspen. I grew up in gladwin which is about 30min from Mt. Pleasant (be carefull of the indians, they take your money!!!) the lake I grew up on, smallwood lake, was always had good water. nice bar on the lake w/ volleyball. there are also a couple others that are great. Pratt lake is smaller and gets a little more crowded, but still great compared to the reserviors I am on now. also sanford lake is closer to Mt. P but gets rough when the wind blows (not that often). Im up in that area every weekend. We have a cottage on lake george which is about 30 min from mt pleasant. THere are a ton of lakes in that area so you can find water just about anywhere. But that casino likes to take alot of money id do my best to avoid that.

I ride the area every weekend. Lake George is good during the week but just a little boat traffic kills the water conditions. Muskegon River 'Browers Park' is by far the best boarding in the area. Its about a 1 hour drive west from Mt. Pleasant. There are some rivers in the Midland area that are decent; however, they get pretty busy.

There are tons of other lakes to board in the area; however, pick them carefully because most lakes limit high speed boating to 11:00AM to 7:30PM.

Also, there are 0 decent lakes within 30 minutes of Mt. Pleasant so plan on driving a little.
