Is anyone building unique wakeboards for themselves? Any pics?

Thats pretty cool. What are those bumps in the middle of the bottom of the board for.

phazers (sp) breaks up the water underneath- similar to old school wakeboards. My flight 69 has em, as did my first hyperlite.

What is the purpose for breaking up the water?

Softer landings I would guess.

Wow you're talented... does it have a foam core? Did you hand glass it? How'd you do the molded fins? Looks awesome!

Actually, i believe the phazers break up the water so there isnt so much suction on the board, allowing better release off of the wake, but i have been known to be wrong before.

The core is a really low density directional foam with balsa in high impact areas. The skin is carbon fiber. I layed it up by hand then vacuum bagged it for a strong bond and reduction in weight. The fins are of course CDI fins. However, the next board I make I am going to mold the fins in. This board actually ended up being a bit heavy at 4.5 lbs. Here is the graphic in center on the top side.

Check these- this is a local surfboard shaper in Huntington Beach thats been making wakeboards since at least 10 years. Not that great of board many years ago when I rode one but more power to Moose for sticking with it. He even posts here occasionally- real Orange County character-
Check his website

Check it Moose- I gave you some advertising
