Thought I'd start a new thread with some of the latest pics of the slider to be used in the rail jam on Walled Lake. Everyone was giving me crap, because I used 3/4" plywood and 2x6 construction. So we removed the ends and float tested it. Then we moved it to the vacant lot across the street from my house. I need to figure out the dimension for the end triangular pieces of plywood.

What kinda crap you been getting?

FYI, watersports (action watersports) in fenton built one exactly like this for their pond up front, they were suppose to use it a couple weekends ago (didn't go so i don't know how it worked). They could probably point you in the direction of what works and doesn't if your interested.

Everyone that looked at it was telling me that the water line was going to be at or near the top of the tubes.

Bruce is well aware of the slider I am building.

doug, that looks so sick
i cant wait to ride it
is there any chance of the side sheets being coated with some plexi so you can wall ride it?

Alex, the sides are being painted white, with an oil base paint. The idea is for sponsors to stencil there name on the sides. I did think about that. But the high density stuff is expensive, and out of the budget for this year.

I have a question for anyone out there. The area on top of the slider is meant for Trex. I made it 11" wide, thinking that 5/4" x 6" is typically 5 1/2" wide. The stuff I purchased is 5 1/4" wide. Is it OK to have a 1/2" gap between the Trex, up the middle?

Thanks

Doug

ya, sheets of like low grade stuff go for 50 bucks for a 6 by 8 sheet. no matter tho, it still looks sick to hit as an a frame!

doug, the gap will be too small to be an issue, it could be an inch and would be fine

The Rail Jam is invitation only. The people who have been invited so far are all saying that they will be showing up. The date is July 26. We will have boats from most of the major companies to check out and demo. Also a wakeboard industry party. DJ Paul will be providing music. Alot of flat screens with wakeboard, skate and surf videos playing. Also trying to get the details complete on a possible bikini contest. Call TWC and tell them, HURRY UP WITH THE BIKINI CONTEST! We are working out the details.

Sunday july 27 is the wakeboard tournament. Starts at 8:00 sharp. A different boat for each division. Also the Walled Lake Beach Party. Not your typical wakeboard tournament.

Should be a fun event!

Doug I do a ton of Wakeboard and other photography and could do photos for the contest if you want.
On a side note: Hijack a bit...
The week of the 13th we are having a few riders (pros) here for the Malibu open and Cathy Williams is doining some clinics here in town for the week (still have a few open spots if anyone is intetested). If you want to give that thing a test run I'd have a few people interested.

That is nice, I wish I hadn't passed on the pontoons I looked at a few weeks back.

Hammer that piece of metal on the outside front end of the pontoons that are supposed to keep the pontoons above water. They look like blades and you won't need them on the slider or slicing you open if you somehow hit them.
