Polish it in the same manner you would polish a painted surface. Try a small detail polisher that spins at slow speed, around 1200 to 1500 rpm, not an orbital. Use a small wool pad and medium cut rubbing compound. Try a small spot because it's going to depend how much material was applied. You can't polish non clear-coated metallics much without ruining the effect of the flake. My feeling is you're going to wind up either painting it or have it re-powdercoated.

No not really. Oxidation generally needs to be buffed/polished off.

If you have the patience to wait for someone else to do a job in the same color, they will usually give you a better deal.

Its also very true what Justin said if you are wanting any color beside black, wait until another project comes in for that color it will be cheaper. I guess I am also fortunate here in East Tn we have several powder coaters around.

No most of the time you have to go to a true powder coat shop. Most paint shops in our area do not have powercoating booths

You guys have any opinions on Paint Versus Powdercoat? I know powdercoat will hold up better but how much abuse does your tower actually take? any guys on here paint there tower and have good luck with it for years? I plan on getting mine done glossy black so I am not sure which one will be better for less fading..

If you get a cleaner wax. That's a wax that has a bit more abracieve in it then regular wax. This is how I take small light scratches or "Rope Burn" marks from stupid people that tie up to my tower and don't know that the rope rubbing up and down on my tower leg makes it look like crap after a few hrs of slipping back and forth. (You know who you are) LOL Take a cloth. Put some cleaner wax in the center of the cloth. Wrap the cloth all the way around the tower leg. Pull back and forth on the rag at both ends causing the rag to polish the tower all the way around the leg. Wax works great for my tower but it's in great condition. Try the Meguiar's Pure wax.

My opinion powder coating holds up better all the way around for fading, durability and cost.
