My laptop got a virus. I have the AV software, but it expired and I didn't realize it. I have Win 7 OS.

It's one of those antivirus viruses. I get a ton of pop ups saying so and so file is infected. When I open my browser it takes me to the "get the AV protection website" and I can't navigate anywhere else.

It won't let me open task manager or command line. I tried to go to system restore and it won't let me open that either. I located the file, and I can't delete it. It says cannot delete file because it's in use.

The virus is lrxsawelajb.exe

I googled it and couldn't find anything on it. I assume I could go into the registry, but I don't know where to go to delete the file.

alright, I found a tutorial on how to remove the virus. I'm at work, hopefully this tutorial will do the trip. It's the Antivirus Soft virus.

I have to be honest, I would love to find the computer geek who created this virus and beat the @#$#$%@#$ out of him.

Let us know if you can't get it off. I've got detailed directions on how to get that nonsense off of your cpu. If you do find the jackhole(s) who create this crap please save some for me so I can get a piece too.

Go to a clean computer and download malwarebytes on a thumb-drive. Start your infected machine in safe mode (F-8) then run MB as a program.
Done.

Oh, and stay off those free porn sites. If you want good clean filth you gotta pay for it.

* I forgot, important! when you are done go back in and check your access settings. Make sure the proxy box is unchecked. You may be somebodies biatch already.

yeah, got it, back on the laptop. Rkill and malaware bytes did the trick

you're right about the porn. I was right in the middle of a great porn video, then the "update java" pop up showed up. I usually click no or x it out, but I guess I was so caught up in the heat of the moment that I accidentally clicked yes, and bam! virus! video froze and everything....I was furious!
