I've only been skating a few times, but man when I'm driving or riding it seems really difficult to hold speed. Any tips?

Oh yah, riding a 2 or 3 person 2001 seadoo 900 cc.

dont look at the speedo so much. driving a ski is more about feeling the engine.practice makes perfect.

Is it a 2-stroke or 4-stroke engine? It is a PITA to hold low speeds on a 2-stroke!

If it is a 2-stroke, rather upgrade to a 4-stroke model, if you have the cash to spare...

agree with grant, feel the speed, when we started i would sit side saddle and not even look at the speedo( very illegal but we couldnt find a spotter)not only that but depending which way you side saddle you actually get a pretty crisp wake on one side and its bigger. we used a polaris msx 140ho, it was a three seater. But i know what you mean anytime we had a new driver it was hell they couldnt hold the right speed youd end up at 35 real quick and the worse was explaining the take off i personally believe my arms stretched two inches in the one summer
