I've got a 12w6 in a sealed box behind the observers seat facing the rear of the boat. It sounds good and hits pretty hard. Last night I was working on my system and moved the box so the speaker was facing the hull wall (sideways), and suddenly it seemed like it was hitting way harder. Does this make a difference or was I imagining it? Would making a down firing box have the same effect?
Thanks

don't knwo why but I've alwasy gotten better sound out of down-fire boxes, I'm sure by facing the speaker towards a wall the sound reverbs and is somehow amplified. There was a post on here with a guy talking about the muber of walls surrounding the sub is directly proportional to the increase in decibles. It was fairly recent
