Ok my brother and I have started wakeboarding over the last 2 summers and I have a short video here of him trying to pop off the wake and get the feel for getting some air and hopefully eventually W2W jumping. We are both noobs to wakeboarding so any and all feedback is helpful.

Any feedback on what things he could do better/different to keep advancing?
The boat is a 2006 MC X2
Perfect Pass set at 21.5 MPH
Rope at 65' off
KGB, Starboard and Port stock ballasts filled. Have an additional 400lbs in each rear locker we could fill as well.

Thanks in advance!

Jake, it looks like your brother is turning the board and riding toward the wake rather than edging towards the wake. In order to jump it is important to use a progressive edge towards the wake and, fortunately for you, there are several threads on this site dedicated to learning the progressive. Though, like anything, learning to use a progressive edge is easier said than done, these threads will definitely be able to help:

Yeah, he needs to learn to edge.

No, it is not basic, you can find many people that have been riding for years that do not have good edging technique. It can be boring learning it as well. We all love the feeling of hitting the wake and getting some and then start working on tricks. But there are a few basics, if overlooked, can hinder your progression. A good heel and toeside edge, regular and switch, is crucial to becoming a good rider.

I recommend the DVD series, The Book. If your brother works on the basics, and not skip the checkpoints, he will be clearing the wake no problem.
