WHY RPenner- Don you think I have Less of a boat. I Really like the VTX for size. I might. I am not crazy about the wedge.

Don't blame you for not being happy with your wedge.... I drove a Malibu with a wedge, once... :-)

Small rampy wake and no surfwake. It's a crossover boat. This is first hand experience.

I hate to comment on things I have no experience with, but I heard the VTX wake was not awesome. Too bad, because the boat is gorgeous and proportioned well.

The VLX is still the ticket I hear.

I think the Calabria's are nice boat's but I think you would like the handling difference better on the VTX.. A friened of mine in Kelowna Sold his Pro V2 and went for a 2002 VLX and says the handling is night and day...

Just don't buy a Wakecraft and you are good in my books Rob...

I am very happy with what I have, The surfwake is great on both sides. I just like the look of the VTX. I have a friend that has a malibu and he would rather surf our boat. He also likes the wakeboarding wake. I have driven a VLX and I think the handling is better on the Calabria. But that is my personal thoughts.

RPenner- what lake do you go to?

Man I thought the VTX wake was pretty dang awesome for a little boat. Chuck Hester and Brandon Poser ride that boat on a small(shallow) private lake and the thing whips around the island like a champ. The VLX was chine locking and creating an issue. If anyone has seen those guys ride, they know that you can go big behind the VTX. When I rode it I thought it had a good sized rampy wake and I was able to do all my normal tricks. I ride a V-ride and VLX very regularly and thought the VTX was right up there in wake quality and the interior dimensions are very similar to the V-ride. Dope boat.

I have a VTX and can surf with just the rear tank and centre full, wedge down at 10:00. I have been running a CWB ride and I am 6' and 225 lbs. We are adding some more weight this winter to make it better.

I test drove a VTX and thought the wake was small with stock ballast. My VLX has a bigger wake stock. I have no experience with a weighted down VTX. When I was looking, a VLX wasn't much more than a VTX.

The VTX does seem enormous inside for a 20' boat though and drove amazing.

^^^Exactly what I have seen with my boat and another buddy who has an 07 VLX. We could get a decent wake out of mine with the stock ballast at lower speeds like 9.5 mph but his seemed better around 11 mph. I have had 10 adults in it and the surf wake was awesome!!!! And the best part about it is the overall size of the boat. It does seem huge inside for being a 20 footer.

I have an 08 VTX with 340 monsoon, all 4 ballast tanks, power wedge and 1237 Acme prop. The boat gets up fine, throws a big wake and handles like no other! I do run a little extra weight--1300lbs lead. The likes of Brian Hutton, Alex Scagliotti, Tony Carroll and others have no problem killing it behind a VTX!

The VTX wake and surf wakes are fantastic when weighted properly. I had a 2000 VLX, and I prefer the fully loaded VTX wake.
For surfing we run 1800 pounds in the rear corner. 800 pounds in the rear corner locker and 1000 pounds on the rear corner seats. Sometimes we use the Wedge in the all the way down position, and sometimes go without.

For wakeboarding we run the four ballast tanks full , I have two more 500 pound sacks plumbed into the rear lockers, and If I have time to mess with it I will add a 500 pound sack to the bow and another across the rear seat. I never use the Power Wedge in anything but the all the way down position. For surfing, too much Wedge washes out the wake.

It is awesome for surfing. We had port caentre and 1/2 front filled and it was surfable with just a driver. Easiest least weight surf wake I have played with. The boarding wask is mellow but wakes up with weight. we loaded the piss out of it once but it didnt peak out like I thought it would. I think the boat was too wide for a peaky wake.

Hey Rob, We live in the south so we often go to Pine Coulee.. Small but a little more protected than Mcgregor and we often have some pretty nice days.. We do go to Mcgregor a little though as my bro lives in Strathmore so it seems to be a similar distance for both of us.

We do a lot in the Kootneys in B.C. as well.. Upper Arrow Lake..
How bout you? I think i recognize that pic in your profile.. Is that Ghost?

RPenner- I have heard of Pine Coulee but I have no Idea were it is. The picture is at Little Bow, end of Mcgregor. I was a Ghost once and froze my ass off never again. Are you still boating?

I absolutely love my 07 VTX! It's the best thing thats happened to me. The wake surf is amazing, the wakeboarding wake is perfect! Ive been on VLX's,23 LSVs,RZ2s,Air 210s,and Tige 22v and im still 100% sold on my VTX. The boat drives like a DD and throws competition wakes like any 21' out there.Upload

VTX = SWEEEEET! Just need a lot of weight because of the width of it and length (being so wide and not long)...

Dielawn - beautiful boat.
