What do you do when other boats or PWC get in your wake while your pulling someone? I have had several occasions recently when a boat or PWC is in my wake and WAY to close behind my skier or wakeboarder.

We signal them, but they never understand. So we stop and go talk to them. Politely explain the danger of what they are doing. Typically they f**k off to somewhere else after.

Signal. If they do not quit, signal the rider that you are stopping. Then stop.

It's better to have a live, safe rider get a run ruined, than have an injured rider on a great run.

Exactly what I was going to say, Claus.

I have someone in the boat wave them off. If that doesn't work, I'll go have a little chat with them. I try to be nice about it.

If they aren't receptive to my words, then I'll throw in a little story about a young kid that got run over and nearly killed "right here on this lake a couple years back".

signal to the rider, shut it down, than everyone in the boat stares really obviously, dont dnow if it works, but it sure is fun.

What worked best for me was to power turn the boat and accelerate at them like I planning to run them over and stop at the last second. Then tell them to stay away from my boat in a really pissed voice. They were too shocked to hardly even respond.

If waving them off with your hands does not work a flare gun usualy gets the message across.

how about a real gun or a block of lumber like the rock uses...........

havent really had the problem but i had Hulk Hogan (i call him that because he looks just like him) and a buddy of his w/ 2 big donzi style jet boats go over where the only good water was where we were one night, we were switching riders and there doing 360 power turns behind each other right in the middle. our boat just sat and stared, then we left and passed them, they waved at us and we just looked at them in a pissed off look and didnt wave back.

Do you live near Tampa - it may have been Mr. Hogan.

Seriously, the Hulkster has a nice setup on the intercoastal over there - jet skis, wake boat (looked like a Supra) and a lil' jet boat (probably a Donzi).

John - I have been known to do that, but it got sketchy a few times (for both parties and the rider) so I take a more pragmatic approach these days.

The finger. If they are close enough to see that, then they usually get the message.Unless it's another transplant Yankee, then they just figure you're saying hello.

ill signal to them, if that doesnt work, usually keep a paintball gun under the seat (15 rounds per/sec), unload a few on the front of their boat and they usually get the point.

I had a boat heading towards a downed rider (my son) on Friday on the Delta.

Rather than idling back I had to power turn to put the boat in between the idiot and my son. He never slowed or changed course as I was coming around so I steered right into his course, and towards him. That was the first time that I have ever had to be that aggressive, but it worked.

He finally got the message and came off of a plane.

Never trust another boat as many are driven by tools and/or drunks.

Usually keep a bunch of sections of old rope in the boat to throw out. Jet pump sucks it up, that usually stops 'em.

I've yet to have a problem, knock on wood, but I thought it would get the point across if they turned around and seen a 20' wakeboat trying to jump their wake.

In MI, there is a 150' rule. Snap a picture and hand it to the DNR or local sheriff and ask for the filing of a complaint.

I have a air canister horn on the boat to point at them to get their attention. Sometimes it works, depends upon the BAC.

paintball gun. Hurts like a bitch on wet skin. I think we should declare open season on PWC. For every one that we run over, we should get a skull and crossbones sticker. whoever gets the most stickers by the end of the season, gets a new boat of their choice.

I like that idea. We have tons of problems on the lake we use during the weekend. Even sometimes during the week it is bad. I am thinking an air horn and yell at them through the tower speakers may help.

Actually want I really want is a huge middle finger out of wood to hold up at them. If that dose not get the point across I don’t know what will.
