just an FYI about the wake competition in Forest Lake this Saturday. here's the memo that has some the details:

"Hey Everyone!
The Minnesota wakeboarding season is upon us again, and for the first time the SHRE 101 Minnesota Wakeboard Tour is coming to a town near you. We have five dates on our schedule this year (see attached flyer ), plus numerous events around the state to spread the love of shred. Or first event is this upcoming Saturday JUNE 6The at the FOREST LAKE park. in Forest Lake. Registration will begin at nine, but we will be around earlier if you would like to register before that. The contest will start at ten a.m. SHARP! So please be present and signed in before then. The Wake contest is $35.00, plus a $40.00 one time season membership fee for the World Wake Association. You can also purchase additional insurance for $20.00 more. ALL AGES AND ABILITY LEVELS ARE WELCOME for the wake event.

This year we are going to be trying to keep the contests moving as fast as possible so that we have plenty of time in the afternoon for the RAIL JAM portion of the contest. Three of the five events on the schedule have rail jams. The rail jams will cost $25.00 and are open to ANYONE WITH RAIL/SLIDER EXPERIENCE. please NO FIRST TIMERS on the rail. A HELMET IS REQUIRED TO HIT THE RAIL. Also You must ride in the wake contest to compete in the rail jam section of the contest. There will be prizes for the behind the boat contest and a CASH PRIZE for the rail jam. ( the cash amount depends on entry's ). I hope we can get a great turnout for our first event of the season. We'll see you Saturday!!!!

Sorry for the short notice on this first event. It's been a busy spring!
For any questions comments or concerns, please email jade@shred101.org
PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO ANYONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED THANKS
Jade Whirley

There are no bleachers from what I can remember from last year, but there are grassy areas close to shore to sit on.

Jay,

Dude you got any interest in an Evening Sesh on Bald Eagle. We should use one of our rides as a chase boat. Then we are planning on pontoon and boozing till we all fall in the water.

Need a little help guys...

After our wake session this evening I hit a rock and messed up my prop pretty bad. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to get them repaired.

Thanks

Bummer Nick. I know the feeling! This is one that I know of:
http://www.propmd.com/t-contact.aspx

You could also contact one of the local dealers (MWMC, MN Inboard, Forest Lake Power Sports) and they'll be able to help you out. They will most likely send it out to their "preferred shop".

when I dinged up my OJ I sent it straight to them. - their prices vary depending on severity

WHAT EVER YOU DO WITH YOUR PROP dont take it to the Prop Shop in Hudson. They repaired an OJ prop I had once and Effed it up so bad. I sent it back to OJ and they were amazed that this company destroyed the prop so bad. It looked good it but it wasnt true, it shook so bad it felt like my boat was coming apart. Send it to OJ they will hook you up.

Jay thanks for the hookup on PropMD.com they look legit. I will give them my buiness in the future and in a river I'm sure it won't be too long...

Thanks for all the help. I'm gonna give Prop MD and OJ a call soon. I have to work for the next week straight so it happened at the perfect time.

Steer well clear of the 4 rock markers sticking out on the Northeast side of Bald Eagle...I was a good 100 yards away from the last one and got owned.

Nick Man I am sorry I should have warned you. YOu better much have to hug the opposite shore when you go through there, those rocks are nasty. There are 2 other bad spots. Down the shore from my Dock towards the ski course there is a Dock that Has a bright Lime Gree Supra on it, there are rocks about 150 yards off that dock. Down the other direction from my dock towards the lauch same shore line the second point has rock on it too maybe 100 yards off the shore.

Old     (amo)      Join Date: Jan 2009       06-05-2009, 11:57 AM Reply
North on 35E. Take the Forest Lake Exit, take a right and you will literally dead end right in to the beach they are using for the comp. Park in the parking lot to the left of the turn about.

Anybody ride on the Mississippi up by Champlin/Anoka around the 169 exit? I have never rode on the river wondering what its like as far as traffic and other boaters etc.

Actually I've taken a couple props to to the place in Hudson and have never had a problem. One was the original stainless on my supra and the second was to repair my Acme 1235. Both were fixed perfectly so maybe OJ isn't their specialty?

All of my props have been ruined on Owasso, and as luck would have it I got another ding on my 1235 Friday morning. Even though they dug out the launch be careful - the giant rock berm is still there......

MK Mississippi is my home water. It is a great place to ride. There are some other inboards out there but not too many. The boat launch there is just fine. Stay south of the 169 bridge and the river is dredged to 10-14ft down to the dam. Above the 169 bridge it is natural and you need to know where the channel is.

The water is much warmer and no weeds. Mostly sandy/rocky bottom. What are you driving? My 87 SunSport is in my profile I'm out every weekend, Tues and Thurs eve now too!!

I know back in the day the Hutch INT tourney was on the river, it was a pretty decent set up for viewing, I wanna say the water was a little shallow but its been so long I can't say that for sure.

Hey MN guys,

Anyone know whats happend to Nisswa Marines Stock of Nautiques. I was on their site a little while ago and they had quite a few nautiques and a few supras and now they have nothing! I think i remember seeing an article in the paper where they were being sued by a financial companie but i didnt think they could get rid of their boats that fast.
Old     (flyspec14)      Join Date: Apr 2005       06-18-2009, 4:45 PM Reply
I grew up in Hutchinson and the mighty Crow River is definitely shallow! It soo good to see a INT there though I can't tell ya.

We will have one of our customer's boats in the boat parade. We'll see if he has the restraint to keep the system down for the old folks ;)
Old     (tuneman)      Join Date: Mar 2002       06-19-2009, 6:17 AM Reply
I remember the good ol' days of INT tourneys in Hutch. The river was so shallow that it caused a huge trough right before the wake. It launched me silly every time. Is it even deep enough right now? Seems like there's been a lack of rain.
Old     (tcmercil)      Join Date: May 2006       06-19-2009, 6:21 AM Reply
Old INT tourneys in Hutch - I'm guessing there are quite a few of of us that remember that SHALLOW water, so shallow that you can stand in the middle of the river and have water at your chest.... I also remember riding behind a horrible Moomba there back in the day...

Word on the street is that Nisswa has filed for chapter 11. They are still open for business as far as I know but not sure if they still have the CC line. Best bet is to give them a call and get the skinny straight from them.
