anyone here ride an ICONN board? i have a Iconn Scarecrow 138 (made in 2000). they stopped making boards in 2001 (but there was only one model in 2001). anyways, i love this board. but i havent ridden anything else (like hyperlite or LF). ive ridden a cwb nirvana, but that board is totally a beginner board.

and my bindings are cwb torqs. sweeet bindings if i had the money i would get the zeus bindings though!

anyways, just wanted to know if anyone else rides ICONN... and if so, what they think of ICONN

i just found out on another board that ICONN was connelly's wakeboard line... then they stopped, and eventually changed to cwb. i knew cwb was connelly (Connelly Wake Boards), but i didnt know ICONN was part of connelly too. is that true?

Yeah, that's my understanding too...that Iconn skis and boards were "designed" by Pat Connelly...the very same Pat Connelly that headed up CWB. My bro has an Iconn and loves it...especially how light it is. I find lighter boards a little too chattery on bumpy water...but then again, who ever rides on bumpy water???

haha. yah i love my iconn board too. ive seen iconn board i dont liek though. i think cwb is definately superior... because of technology and stuff.

anyways, i've always wanted to get the cwb absolute... but i dont really like any of graphics they've used except on the first year they made the absolute platinum. here is a pic: http://www.wakeworld.com/BoardGuide/getboard3.asp?ProductID=1354

I just rode a 03 platinum just this last weekend. It was the 134 (I weigh 235 and so this was totally small for me) and I loved it. Lots of pop and, compared to what I usually ride, it was a freakin go-cart. It was so easy to get on the edge and then it would just rocket me to the wake. I had 1.25 slider fins in and would have rather had none. I liked it much better than my brother's Iconn.

If that is the board you want, look around...I'm sure you can find one.

Where do you guys get your information?
You guys are so far off you could not be further from the truth. The conception to the bankrupcty of Iconn took place over a three year period and had nothing to do with CWB.

Are there 2 Pat Connellys that make wakeboards? Well who would have guessed that?

All I said was that I understood it to be the same guy.

So nac nac, don't hold back, spill it...what's the scoop?

i'd like to know too. it doesnt make sense to me why ICONN just dissappeared off the face of the earth. jeremy kovak rode ICONN, how could they have done that badly?

OK, in a wakeworld interview, Jeremy Kovak said that it was "Matt" Connelly who started Iconn. Pat Connelly designed boards and Skis for Iconn.

nac nac, "The conception to the bankruptcy of Iconn took place over a three year period" ?
Hmmm, looks like Jeremy rode for them for 5 years.

Where did you get your information?

Pat Connelly departed from Connelly and started up Iconn.
Iconn was never a part of Connelly

Thank you Kristian. It may have been the same guy but he had nothing to do with Connelly by then. Kinda like Herb O'Brien eventually had nothing to do with O'Brien. They were the old school shapes & eventually the ICONN Best board changed things. I wonder what happened, oh well not important.
