So I called a Malibu dealer today and they have an 05 Vride and an 06 Vride that have never left the dealer (still have full warranty). The are both decently equiped and are priced under 40k with trailer. Is this a deal I can't pass up?

Just spent 48 on an 07 so an 06 less than 40 is probably a pretty good deal. Mine is pretty much loaded though but with the 320 LCR not the Monsoon.

That is a great boat , and it sounds like an unbeatable price. If you have the option get the power wedge .

They both have the 320. The 05 has 70 demo hours and the 06 has 17. They both have a manual wedge so it would probably be too much hassle to put the power wedge. Both have stereo, tower (o5 titan, 06 illusion), PP, board racks, full ballast, bimini on the 06. Did they do any upgrades for 06? I know the gages went digital and the PP is now Malibu speed control or something like that.

You say they are both priced under 40k, but whats the real price difference? With what you have listed so far it seems like the obvious choice is the 06. Lower hours, illusions tower, "newer", digital guages. Is there a color preference involved that you have to think about as well or are they both good looking boats from the outside?

The 05 is Orange Gray and white and 3,500 less than the 06. The 06 is Blue gray and white. I haven't looked at them yet, planning on it Saturday morning. In the mean time I am trying to justify spending that much money and figure out if financing over 15yrs is a good move.

Go with the 06, colors are better and will probably be a little better on resale. Offer him a little less than he's asking and jump on it.

I hate doing this but, here are the other options in town. 2002 X-star 270hrs loaded $30,000. 07 X-1 $42k, not loaded. 05 Tige 22v loaded $44k. 03 MB B52 V3 Team $36k low hrs. I think the Vride is the best choice, what do you guys think?

i am a malibu guy myself, but an 07 x-1 at 42k sounds like a steal. how 'not loaded' is it? that hull throws a great wake.

I'd got for the 06 V-ride or the Tige 22v. These are going to be your most comfortable boats. That X-1 is going to be BARE BONES. Given that a fully loaded X1 is like $60k I'd skip that option.

Hopefully going to look at the Vrides now and then the X-stars tomorrow. To clarify 02 X-star 257 hrs, 33k needs to be detailed, has single axle trailer. 07 X-1 twin ballast, trailer, cover, racks, stereo 42k The Vride is 06 but new well equiped 40k. I am upgrading from a 88SN2001 (any takers?) looking for more space, better surf wake, smoother ride, and something that will be beginner friendly for the wife.

Just signed a deal with Ski Boats Unlimited on a new 07 X1 with 2hrs. I couldn't be more excited!!! The boat is sweet, all Navy blue inside and out with a white X1 and stripe. Got it with Stereo, board racks, rear ballast, trailer, and Bimini. I'll post pics after I pick it up. The people at Ski Boats are top notch. They still have one all black X1 and the 02 X-star on the lot. I wasn't accurate on the price, but I think I still got a great deal. Any suggestions on how to load this thing out for wake and surf? Also, curious what upgrades/options I am going to wish I had. What should I put on my wish list? The old Nautique is posted in the classifieds if anyone is interested.
