ok a friend of mine wants to put two tens in a single custom box. we got the box made and its gout about 1 cubic foot per sub and its sealed. we were looking at the alpine e series and was wondering what is the best entry level sub.

You can't go wrong with Kicker in my opinion, Ebay will hook you up with something in your budget :-)

Check their specs, each sub has it's own volume requirement for a sealed enclosure. Looks like you guys went backward and now would have to find a sub to fit the box.

This is good up to a cubic ft. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=31 46

Series the VC to 4ohms on both subs then parallel them back into a 600.1 amp such as the alpine pdx. It will smash real good!

Definitely a fine sub Hate n Pain, but I'd advise against as its a paper based cone - not good for the long term with so many poly based cones available.

What is the amp you are using to run the subs? Need to know what it can handle before a good recommendation can be made. Secondly what is the budget?

And check out soniceletronix.com they have great pricing.

Oh and i would stay away from the Alpine Type E. Alpine makes a great sub in the Type R and Type X. Everything else is just disappointing, they don't hit hard, and have alot of distortion in them. And you can get a better all around sub for the same price as the E usually.

i was told the new alpine type e is way better than the old. We have an mtx jackhammer amp that we are going to run at 2 ohms to power both. i think it puts us at 325rms to each? ive also been told its way better to over power a sub than to underpower it. my friend pulled the trigger on those new alpines so i guess we shall see. may have to go the kicker route in the end

I had 1 10" MTX from circuit city last year powered by an alpine 200 watt rms amp and it pounded. Subs were buy 1 get 1 free. Okay I guess entry level might not necessarily mean bargain hunting but I was happy with that setup.

i got 2 12s MTX and they hit really hard, the subs only cost me a 100 bucks. very god subs for the price

Image Dynamics ID/IDQV3 is a great way to go. Lots of output and they are a very accurate woofer. Great in a marine environment.
