Is there anywhere to catch a set in the DC or surrounding area? Im considering moving there and I was just wondering if there is a wake scene anywhere in the area.

Try www.dcwake.com

I think there are quite a few riders in that area.

^^^ site isn't nearly as active as it once was, but there are several places to ride within an hour - hour and a half in every direction. Also a big group of us that all know each other and have get togethers a couple times a year. The Potomac right in DC is also an option, but unless it's 6am it usually gets choppy. Personally, my preference is Lake Anna b/c it's heated and the season is longer. There's a ton of water in the Annapolis area too, if you move, be sure to get on www.dcwake and introduce yourself then....

sp0tts...Lake Anna sucks. Nobody should ever go there, ever! Water is terrible, especially in the north-east section known as 'the flats'. I would avoid it at all costs...

Joe

There are a ton of people riding in DC and the surrounding area. Dan Smith is also a good place to start working your way into the scene. shoot him an email.

Now that I think about it, there is this really nice place north-west of DC on the upper Potomac known as 'Damn 4'. Check it out. I've heard great things about the quality of water out there...
