Anyone have an issue with the boat overheating at idle? (With the excalibur engine only)

Is it brand new?
Samething happened when we were taking it out for the first time and it overheated. Just turn it off and turn it back on and let it idle for a while. It is just something that happens with the new engine.

Any good explanation for it? It only got to 175 but the light in the gauge was going off and I could tell that no water was making it out of the exhaust tubes. I just reved the throttle to give it a better prime and then I was all set.

DJL,

If you look at the Excalibur motors, the water tube running from raw water pump down to the exhaust risers makes a pretty severe radius bend and it almost appears as if the hose is getting pinched off a bit. I brought it up to CC and PCM but, nothing was done about it. The hose should be molded to the radius.
You might want to see if it's pinched off or not and if so, either get a little bit longer hose to lengthen the radius or go to your local auto parts store and see if you can buy something that has a nice radius to it and just cut to size.
I know this is nothing you should have to do on a $50K boat but, somethings you have to do on your own because you're talking to deaf ear sometimes.
Also, if you have a heater, the hose running to the front of the engine for the pickup, probably a red colored hose, that hose makes a pretty severe radius bend in it as well but, can be remedied by putting a 90' elbow right were it makes the bend.
