I know that there are going to be a lot of opinions about this topic and i know that there isnt a set board that has the best pop, but what board does have the best pop do you think?

Most boards these days are going to have good pop. No one is really going to say their board doesn't pop.

The key is finding a board that does everything well, for YOU.

Some of the boards mentioned above have massive pop, but they may be too fast, or too slow for your riding style. Demo!

I love the transcend, too. Although the Absolute has massive amounts of pop.

Absolute. One old board that popped like crazy was the Origin Weddington. it also landed like a ton of bricks.

Liquid Force Watson, Shane, or Witness.
Haven't ridden or seen the Lyman but I'm sure that has good pop.

slingshot recoil. demo one before u buy anything else.
Old     (ironj32)      Join Date: Jan 2007       01-05-2008, 10:32 AM Reply
for me it's a big tie between the Natural & the Shane. although i have this sneaking suspicion that the slinshot recoil that i am dying to ride will top them (i got to ride it twice last season...but it was so cold that it wasn't a fair assessment).

ibex, and if you can get use to a flex board those are best
Old     (cpizzle)      Join Date: Sep 2007       01-05-2008, 7:15 PM Reply
I heard the Ibex as insane pop
Old     (wakerider111)      Join Date: Jul 2006       01-05-2008, 8:48 PM Reply
I second Chuck!

Gota try a slingshot recoil.

DEMO IF AT ALL POSSIBLE THOUGH!!!! (that goes for any board)

F.Y.I. some people out there attack slingshot by saying that the board doesn't give you good pop unless you edge right... in my mind this seems more of a benefit. Would it not be better to have a board that rewards you for good and correct edging technique??
ANYWAY, Once again, DEMO DEMO DEMO. but if your stuck in the middle of no where and cant possibly demo... then i'd spend all of winter reading all the info there is and make the best educated guess you can... that is what i used to do when i lived in remote Page, Az.

Anyone know anything about the new Watson's pop? I'll probably demo it come spring, but I'm curious if it's worth my time.

Has anybody demo'd the new Lyman
Old    justinh            01-11-2008, 6:08 AM Reply
I would say most any of the new PVC cores that also have some width to them will be tough to beat.
Old     (sidekicknicholas)      Join Date: Mar 2007       01-11-2008, 6:12 AM Reply
ibex pops great, but the best was when Byerly's had +3" rockers w/ DNA cores.... I miss those

Ditto for the Slingshot Recoil. Once you get it dialed it pops great.

Really I hate questions like which board has te best pop? that is all 100% opinion of what you wnat in a wakeboard, simple fact is most or wakeboards pop good when you load the line correctly and have proper body positions.

yes joe....OVER end of discussion

Andy - Good point, but I do think there are certain boards that don't make you work as hard for it. Eg; I ride a Covin and it takes a serious cut in to the wake to get it's pop, in my opinion the Covin is not a board that just anyone could get on and get the most out of. When the IBEX came in I decided to try it for a day and it is completely different, it takes absolutely zero effort to get pop, it's just a board that anyone could get pop out of....it's a little on the slow side for me, but it definitely gets my vote for most pop. My .02.

no i didn't mean that, i meant with the board I've personally been on its no where near a competition I should have specified.
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       01-11-2008, 8:26 PM Reply
what board(s) did you compare it to?
