Okay, there are three boats that I am considering buying. The first is a 1997 correct craft super sport, nicely outfitted with a tower and stereo and stuff. the next one is a 2000 mastercraft x-5 with an open bow in like new conditions with like 80 hours on it, and the third boat is a 2001 Supra Launch SS in great condition. they all are about the same price give/take a few grand. Which one should I get?

There are not enough info from you for anyone to tell you witch one is right for you. Test drive and inspect them. Then you tell us. Good luck with your decision.

I would skip on the MC.

Nauti is a V-drive & Launch is a DD
Launch is newer.

I think you can't lose with either the SS or the SS.

Super Sport for sure, I'm biased, but have ridden behind both and the Nautique is the better in my opinion.

Heavily loaded the Supra Sunsport aka Launch produces one of the BIGGEST cleanest wakes I have ever ridden, with a nice transition and a smooth ramp that will launch you to the moon. Of course the Nauty is a great boat too, and that particular hull was one of the best ever produced. The Nautique will use less fuel and produces a wake that is steeper, which is my overall preference, for my riding style.

Was I supposed to mention the MC?

I love super sports, but I actually agree with Peter. My friend has a 2001 launch and the wake is awesome.

I wouldn't even think twice about buying the super sport. I may be biased too (see profile), but that super sport will throw a SICK wake and it won't take as much weight as that Supra. Plus, the super sport is a v-drive, so you won't have sacs laying around all over your boat like the Supra. I have almost 2000 lbs. in my '97 super sport and you can't see any of it! Also, the GT-40 in that Super Sport is a work horse.

Super Sport,

I wouldn't even consider a direct drive over one.

Super Sport, I had about the same decision as you have last year minus the MC. I took the Super Sport and haven't looked back.

Super Sport hands down. Same hull as Super Air up until 2007. YOu will have a pro level wake with about 1300 pounds of ballast. Plus it sounds like it is already loaded. Go for it. How many hours does it have??

I agree with what has been posted here. The x-5 is probably not the best wake boat in your list.

If you want to get more for your buck, you sholkd consider Sanger too. I LOVE the 215 wake when it's slammed.
