hey
my 07 xstar has just developed a wierd problem.
we left for 3 weeks and when we came back went went to ride, the boat felt fine but when i started driving it was taking alot long time to get to speed. once it got to what felt like riding speed the rpms were alot higher then normal and the speedo was saying we were only goin 30 kmph, normal riding speed is 40 ish. also the wake was completely bad, not uneven but breaking on both sides and really different to normal.
i check all the bottom of the boat prop rudder etc and all seems fine.

any one have any ideas what it could be ??
thanks

Hi Dan, are you Dan Nott?? If so I saw you riding in Rosario, Argentina a few years ago, I might have a few pics from that day if you're interested. Are you with Robbie yet?

As for your problem, I have many ideas, let's start from the basics. have you checked tranny and engine fluid lately? any particular noise in the engine box?

Keep us posted.

Do you leave the boat in the water? If so, bottom growth can drastically affect the performance of the hull.

Dan, the wake is bad because the boat is too heavy and for some reason the engine is struggling to get on plane.

It would seem as if the propeller is not turning all the rpms, I think your problem might be in the tranny or shaft coupling.

How many rpms do you run when riding and at full throttle? how many hours in the boat?

I think I got a few pic of you riding, do you want me to post them here or do I send them to your mail?

Have you given Simon at MC a call... I know it sounds obvious but I'm sure he'd be able to shine a little light on this for you.
