Best board for the cable park

So which is it? Just looking for everyones opinions. Pros and cons

Slingshot - any model

Tough as nails - base slides super smooth and wears very slowly - flex flex flex flex flex - you can tune the edges - sidewalls can be re-worked - lots of snap - low swing weight is great for spinning

Hybrid Watson... channels for edge and sticking landings... flex for gettin steezy

watson hybrid because you can get the OMG shot on big grabs or inverts off the kicker.

I just recently picked up a vibe and I'm in love with it. I think its really an under rated board.

the hyperlite clash is another solid choice, not super expensive any more, proven cable shape, enduro base, plastic slider-friendly fins. fast, durable, and plenty of edge hold and snap for air tricks out of the corners. just ask norbi, haha!

putting in a vote for the Ronix Bill and Phoenix. Sintered base feels great on rails and lasts! Solid shapes, "bolt on molded fins" (hate that phrase). They have fins that last, don't get in the way and can be replaced. and most importantly SUPER FUN!!!

you can't go too wrong with any of the above choices. Make sure you do get something durable though. Jib base is a must!

the two most popular boards are definitely the witness grind and the Watson hybrid. Stay away from sling**** so you don't have to keep buying boards as they have the tendency to snap like twigs

Most popular board out at our cable is the Vibe.
The vibe holds up really well on the obstacles as well.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with Kyle. The board I rode for cable all summer, a 2010 Slingshot Response, had been used solidly since February in Australia, all through the summer at our local 2.0 park, Boarderpass, and a couple times at a semi-local wakeboard camp on their rail lake. The original owner retired it at the end of the summer due to several deep gouges from screwheads. I put some 5 minute epoxy on these gouges and proceeded to ride it hard several more times with no further abuse taken. I love Slinghsots for cable.

I liked the way it rode but it took me exactly 3 hours on the cable to snap a brand new Witness grind. It was disappointing to say the least.

Don't expect to do many presses with the Watson Hybrid or Witness Grind, they're good for kickers but they feel heavy and sluggish on the rails to me. I use Slingshots on everything without the fins, the slipperiness just takes a little getting used to. Slingshots will hold up well as long as your not running the nose into posts.

Just want to throw this in. The witness grind(fooshee's board) can't be that bad. It's TSR's rental slider board. I'm sure if it lacked quality they'd go to a more dependable board.

I snapped a Witness Grind too, not that it couldn't happen to any board. I've been on a CWB Vibe since. Fun durable board for the park.

Vibe is awesome. 1 inch thick ABS plastic all the way around the edge of the board. Flat bottom (w/o fins) and just enough FLEX that is perfect for presses.

I like my 2010 Vibe and am stoked to see that all they did was make it even more durable for 2011. Take the fins off and it is a sick rail board, flexible but not too flexible. It gives good resistance for presses.

You can get new Motives for as low as $100 on eBay and they are as tough as nails. I wear mine down to the core on sliders. Old design but perfect for the cable.

Sorry Ben if the title was misleading. Wasn't looking for one single best board just seeing what ppls opinions where and the reason behind them. That's why I was asking for the pros and cons to each particular board. Personally I like the Watson hybrid but, I wanted to see what other boards ppl liked.

LOL, how true. I've got 3 134 Motives right now. That's after tossing out 2 that I wore out. Last year I picked up a 140 Belmont for $60 in perfect cond. It was the year before they renamed it to the Motive (pretty old). I decided to switch to the 140 behind the boat and use the 134s for the cable. I'm about to toss my current 134 cable board and pull a new one out of reserve. My current one is worn to the core and the edges are cracking from the slider impacts.

I'm sure it's not the best design, but there has to be a reason they're still around. I'd guess it's the oldest design in current production and probably the longest running design of any board. I was never happy with a board for more than one season before I hooked up with the Motive.

Oh it sure is a timeless shape. I have one (2000 Belmont 134) hanging on my wall in fact. Its simple and such a smooth ride.

I went and rode TSR for the first time in about a year a few weeks ago. Haven't been riding due to a back injury, and shouldn't have, but did anyway. I don't have a board so I just used whatever rental they had. It was the Fooshee's board, the Witness? Anyway, it was awesome! Tracking is really important and it did that well. It had more pop than I was used to so I was kind of stalling out on a few air tricks, but I got used to it. Anyway, it's a fun board...my profile pic is of me riding it.
