after my carelessness of stretching too far over the boat and getting hurt, dropping the board, chiping gel coat i have been thinking about swivel racks, so i am poling the authorities on wakeworld, i have seen a few comments, but would like to hear some more. do you have them? do you use them? who makes them? who's do you think are the best/worst and why?

I use mine all the time. Easier for the kids too. Also when you tie off to other boats you can turn your racks in and keep your boards from slamming into each other.

Dave or anyone, If you have your bimini top on, can you still swivel the rack into the boat?

No problems with the X-Star. I had a X-30 and the bindings would hit the tower midway through the turn. Not a real big deal though.

Mine are the factory swivels, so I cant help with any recommendations on aftermarkets, but I can say they would be well worth the investment. It was one of the first things I liked about the boat.

the swivel racks work great when tied up with other boats as well as when you need to tie up to a houseboat...a totally great option I would get them on my next boat fore sure!

I am not sure of any other company that offers them but I am pretty sure Titan offers them aftermarket. It is an accessory clamp that you can add to their racks to get them to swivel. Don't know of any reviews on them. I know I would love a set for sure. Getting to boards would be so much easier than balancing on my top deck. (Message edited by xstarrider on January 19, 2008)

get em, once you've got the swivels you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

I have em on our x-star and they come in handy, like others said, tying up to other boats, mooring, and it makes it easier to get boards on/off.

Guys, whatever you do or go with make sure the rack manufacture has SPACERS that will fit. I went with Roswell 07 swivel/team rack on my 2 1/4 Calabria tower. Roswell's idea of fitting other sized towers is to send two strips of rubber to put between the gaps. I could be wrong but think the two (and only two) sizes were 1 3/8ths and 2 1/2. I obviously used the 2 1/2 and put the supplied rubber strips and they didn't work. I tried the anchor bolt, screwing the brack as tight as possible and they still moved down going over wakes and vibrations. So far that the button on the swivel would engage causing the rack to swivel in. Don't get me wrong they looked/worked really good and would stay in place until you got going. I was always on the lake with my wrench trying to fix an unfixable problem! When I sold my Calabria I suggested to the buyer to run a set screw through the anchor and into the tower. That would be the only thing that would fix the problem. Personally, I didn't want to put a bandaid on the problem rather than fixing it. So, again...whatever you guys go with make FOR SURE there's an insert that will fit your tower! Word from the wise... I went back to the fixed for two reasons..First mentioned above and the second was price. I'd rather sink those $$$'s into more/better stereo/accessories than they convienence (my experience, lack there of). (Message edited by knwebs on January 23, 2008)

I'm not sure what the model is and I don't see them on the Titan website. Maybe they're only available through Malibu. You might also check out the Titan Battle Racks. I had those on my last VLX and I really liked them. Plus, they're chrome, which is a little easier to keep clean.
