Anyone done it themselves? What is the best way to go about it? Or should I just take it to a detail shop and let them go to town? Thanks

Pretty easy, but depends on the decal and how long it has been on. I have removed lots of them. Take a hair dryer or a head gun out there and heat it good and start peeling. Peel very slowly and keep the heat gun just in front of where you are peeling. Once you are done take some goo gone, acetone, or lacquer thinner on a rag and wife away the residue. That is it!

I've also had success with the hair dryer. You can usually get the stickers off of there in large chunks or whole letters this way. I've always used denatured alcohol as my first solvent to try on residual adhesives. If that doesn't cut it well then I go to mineral spirits or lighter fluid. After I remove the adhesive I wash with soap and water.

BTW, depending on the size of the graphics it will probably take you longer to bring it to the shop and then pick it up afterwards then it would have taken you to remove it yourself. Not to mention the money.

if you haev never done this before, it's much safer to use a haridryer. Heat guns can get really hot and haev the potential to do damage if not used correctly.
