2002 or 2003 Super Air

Which is a better buy in everyones opinion? A 2002 Demmoed Super Air with 100 hours with full 5 year warrenty in great shape or an exact same loaded new 2003 for 10,000 more?

A boat looses towards 10% the day you buy it and another 10% per year (for the first few years).

So, buying a one year old boat is not a bad idea.

I bought a brand new 2002 Super Air Team Edition with 10 hours on it in December. I saw no need to spend more money on a new 2003. Thus, you can pretty much guess what my opinion would be. Just be sure to test drive it and make sure everything is operational. Just because it has the full 5-year warranty, you won't want to have to be bothered getting it worked-on once you have it home.

Yes, insist on everything being corrected before you hand over the money and take delivery. Your leverage goes way down after they get the money.

Ya they said it would be 100% when I got it. I demoed it too. I think I should also make them change oil and put in new impella.

Make sure you check into that 5-year promise. Correct Craft does not transfer that warranty, it is only good for the first owner of a boat. Is this a dealer demo, or is your dealer getting you an extended warranty with a third-party company?

I would recommend double-checking that warranty information, because I have heard dealers say they are transferable when they really are not. Correct Craft will only transfer the engine and hull warranty (for a small fee).

Just thought I would give you the heads up. Some dealers will tell you anything to get you to buy...

If the boat is truly a dealer demo, and is in good shape then I would svae the money. I would make sure that everything is perfect on the boat before you sign the paperwork.

Shane is correct. The 5 year warranty does not transfer, unless the dealer is scamming it somehow. The remainder of the 3 year engine warranty will transfer for a fee, and the lifetime hull will transfer from correct craft for a fee. David, I also have a 2002 Super Air that I'm trying to sell. Shoot me an email if you're interested. I'm looking to make a good deal.
