Making the move down to Austin Texas soon and looking to hook up with some folks to get some riding in. I start making the trip down this week and will be there every week after that.
Help a feloow Wakeworlder out and give me some tips on whree the spots are and if you need a third in the future I am always looking for a pull, and my boat will be down there in the next few months.

Lake Austin has a big wake scene. Water is pretty brutal on the weekends unless you head way upriver.

TSR is 40 minutes from downtown.

Shoot me a message when you get here and we'll get you plugged into a crew. You can ride with us but I've been going to the dark side of wakeskating lately.

@Pacifichigh - thats what I have heard so far Lake Austin, supposed to be a few good spots though from what I hear, looking forward to trying out TSR never been to a cable yet.

@puckhead - I will shoot you a message for sure, the first few weeks are just some short trips down to start getting familure with the company but in no time I will be there full time.

@Eubanks - poked around the site briefly a few weeks back, gonna hit it up as I get my time figured out..

@Evan - Gonna miss you guys for sure, lots of good times, Spring Ride, DRA Events, and just regular weekend of hanging out. I will still be making trips back up to the area though and you know the door is always open for the CIE crew. We will still have a few good weekends before we are out of town for good.

What ever happened with the push to banning ballast/wake enhancing devices on Lake Austin? 360wakeboard.com has become so slow in terms of activity over the years, so I don't check it. I surely hope nothing came out of it, and folks can still sit low in their boats.

Yes the 360wakeboard site has dropped in terms of traffic. My sense is that most crews are now using Facebook to coordinate pulls and share information. It has become "clickish". It's too bad since this was a great site until 2009.

In terms of the wake enhancement issue on LA... The whole thread was dropped by the city council. They passed an ordinance for retaining walls (angled at 45 degrees) and that's what kicked up the mess with home owners claiming that wake size was the issue. After it passed the Parks Dept developed a resolution to research wake enhancement devices, restricting where you could wakeboard, and controlling specific times when you could ride. Well, because of the visibility we had on the prior issue (NMMA, WSIA, Correct Craft and other vendors) the council never passed the resolution. They just don't like visibility at all.

So long story short, it's not over and we need to be vigil on the upcoming agendas and make sure we stay involved. I am in monthly contact with the "policy aids" to the council. It's the best way to get a feel for what they think is important and make sure what happened in Oregon doesn't happen here in Texas.
