haha so I have FINALLY landed and rode a HS 180 away. Im not that bad i have a completley solid HS/TS wake jump, Grabbed TS 180s, TS 3's, switch HS 180's (half cabs?) tannnys backrolls, close on the front flip, but up until tonight Ive had the burden of never riding a HS FS 180 away. Up until tongiht i would always slip out on them. kind of embarassing huh? thought id let all you guys know to see if anyone has a similar monkey on their back, or if anyone wants to poke fun at me, feel free!

Congrats! Sometimes it's the easiest tricks that get you.

I had the same problem a couple years ago...Thane Dogg gave me the best advice, told me to try and wait 'til I was on the way down to start the 180, but more importantly, he said to take the handle, rotate it 90 degrees downwards and, while pretending to be a gunslinger, slam the handle into its holster right on the hip. I've noticed that I don't do it so drastically anymore, but when I was learning it was an instant cure for me.

well, i started doing a lot of flat lan d 180s, to come in for a half cab, then id do them off waves and stuff, i think that really helped me land on my toes, and the whole "waiting forever before you spin" technique also helped alot

This one was a problem for me too. I could never get that last 5%. What made it click for me was thinking about getting my right shoulder(left foot forward) turned more. So the back of my shoulder was facing the boat.

I've always found that doing a grab (any with left hand) really helps keep my body in the correct position and makes me wait on the 180.

What I have found is people that have problems landing the HS FS 180 is that they don't ride switch very often. Congrats on finally landing it. If it becomes a problem again ride switch for about 5 minutes going back and forth across the wake and then do some inside out 180's off the wake and then go for a W2W 180. After a year of trying I finally landed the HS backroll last weekend, it's amazing what happens when you hold onto the handle.

yea it took me a couple sets to learn HS backrolls, I came up short on one and dug the nose, that kinda made me scared to start tryin them again, but after that I landed like every one but let go of the handle, then for some reason i dont know why, i tried one last one and i stuck it, the only thing i can think of that i did different was hold on haha. Feels good to finally ride one away huh
