A "skeezer 5" would be a switch crowmobe 5. Is that a big worm 5?

J-Rod, A big worm 5 is pretty much a TS whirly... It's a crow mobe 5 that's done olé instead of handle-pass. A few riders do them.

hehe...I know I'm tired from riding and drinking beer, but doesn't this sounds a little weird? "In the men’s competition, the 16-year-old Soven, running before Harf, set the competitive bar high, stomping a litany of tricks in a run that included his own nuclear crow mobe method 540, a backboard transfer into a back flip, a nuclear whirly bird, a Pete Rose whirly 720 and a heelside 540. He punctuated his ride with a switch toeside off of the double-up." I'm having trouble picturing the "nuclear crow mobe method 540." (Message edited by jarrod on August 06, 2005)

Sorry, but Soven should have taken that. No question. Nuke Whirly 5! Method crow 5! Whirly 7! So he didn't do anything spectacular of the double up (Toe nuke backroll) but those runs were WAY above anyone else. Harf's run had a 7 and switch 7 but he bobbled on more than one trick. He did a freakin 180 for heavens sake. Soven got robbed. period.

well if you add that 180 to his 9 you get a 10, so, harf killed it

Consistently? no. Grabs? not very often. Plus, only the top guys have been doing em. If Soven had done a 5 off the dub up he would have won, if you notice the scores are very close.

IMO Harf was better on the sliders and much better on the Dup and soven was slightly better on the wake so it was close but the judges got it correct IMO....

Harf's run was way more balanced, he killed all the rails and had a clean double up. You cant beat that heel 7 switch heel 7 combo! Besides Soven was lucky to win last year, he robbed Parks (or Sharpe, depends on your opinion!) so maybe he had a little bad luck this year. I do think that the judges make too much of a big deal of the double up in x-games though.

Consistantly? yes. Harf has won with that trick four times at X. Kind of like Parks' dbl cab. Gets old. I forgot about Sovens's Dum Dum too. Just my opinion here, but I felt it wasn't even close. You can watch both runs here: http://expn.go.com/expn/feature?name=sx11raw

IMO, Soven is a better contest rider and did stomp all of his tricks, except the Dup, but Harfs run had more difficulty. I dont think it would have suprised me to see Soven get second last year, All of those 4 guys mentioned, Harf, Soven, Sharpe, and PB, plus a few other guys killing it ride together. They are all doing the same tricks. I think Harfs switch 7 and 9 put him ahead. Lyman's nuclear birds look better than both Harfs and Sovens.

gotta stick something good off the Double up to get gold Harf did, Soven didn't. Just like last year Parks should have won IMO.

Toeside back rolls off the Dup are crazy, and they never get old.

while i agree with your statement above, they still don't score nearly as high as mute 9s.

Well they should...and im still being sarcastic Sovens double up was a missed trick, the judges knew he wasnt going for that. It probably counted against him as a fall

sliding counts for 25% of a riders score. Look at sovens sliding and then at dannys, add that to their runs and then tell me soven got robbed....

Remember last year, when Soven, somehow, took gold, over Parks??? Or, when Adams beat Pastrana in Moto Freestyle??? I'm not sure how accurate the judging really is... It seems questionable, to me. -Blake

I agree with Blake there have been some very questionable decisions made at X in the past, this however isnt among them.

What about the front mobe 5 thrown down by josh? Sick! Froggy's was a whirly dick, not a whirly 7. Insane! Congrats to all the riders!

well since we are on the controversy id say that emily copeland got ripped off ,she had a more solid technical clean set the Dallas and should have won ,dallas was off this day bobbled alot of tricks repeated a ts front when she failed to do the tootsie roll and didnt even attempt a whirly ...IMO Emily should have won..

I could've swore I saw Friday do a whirly? Dallas had a killer run... She took big tricks out in the flats... Way out. I think Hamilton was closer to taking her than Copeland was... However, I didn't follow their runs that closely... I could be way off. -Blake

Dallas landed the same tricks, except went way bigger than the other girls. She was conservative, but still worthy of the win. Harf was the right call. His wake tricks were a little behind Soven's, but the nose press and 900 pulled it out.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/20050807-9999-1s7xgames.html She deserves every bit of it. It's really too bad she gets treated the way she does by the other riders. I think she is probably going to be the best woman wakeboarder in the history of the sport, or is that too bold a statement?

Dallas deserved to win. she really did go way bigger than all the other girls. although Hamilton's Raley was huge! I was a little dissapointed that Dallas did not hit a double up though. anyone know why?

Dallas had an awesome run in prelims but her last run in the finals was not great and not up to her standards she did not hit or attempt the whirly in the finals and didnt complete a tootsie roll as usual either ..yes she went big but her final run IMO did not deserve gold she deserved silver, again its my oppinion... BTW she actually fell on the whirly in prelims as well but out of course on the way to the dock she stuck one that didnt count...

i thought danny deserved the win...soven was close and he rode really well but danny had a better d-up and he was the only one to nose press the flat bar.Dallas desevered it as well, she went larger than anyone...not her best work, but still worthy. double ups were not part of the girls scored run...so dallas didn't take one...
