Air Dock??

Anyone have, or know anything about this floating lift system? Any Info would be great!

i hope your place is pretty calm because im pretty sure you will find your boat on the shore with big problems if the wind shows up !! honestly invest in a Normal boat lift a X2 worth a little bit of that pamping no ???

I'm not sure where that came from..... or why the Air Dock would have any more problems than any other floating lift out there.

If your situation is like mine was, I couldn't have a lift sitting on the bottom...... just too deep. So I looked into an Air Dock a few years ago. The issues I had were with the skegs or the inboard prop hitting the bag under the boat, or the bag chaffing on the dock, even though they advertise that they have safeguards for those issues.

The only problems I had with my airdock were related to me not setting it up properly and not following directions. Once I took some time, talked to the owner, and did things right...the airdock has worked perfectly. My Calabria is in it's second season on the bags and I have no complaints. Good system.

If you punched through the mat, you had to be trying to force the boat off. Also, the boat should be tied off such that there isn't alot of rubbing on the dock. That is...the BOAT is tied off, not the lift itself.

So those of you that have one - Would you recommend using for inboards? Is the hull completely out of the water?

Yes, I would recommend it for inboards. The system is pretty flexible and covers everything from huge cruisers down to PWC.

My Calabria Pro-V is on the "C/B Model" with the added inboard protection mat. The mat ties to the bags to keep the skegs from popping the bags. The prop has never been an issue in my setup.

Yes, the hull is entirely out of the water when the bags are full. We've even done a prop change in the water with the boat on the lift. One complaint that some people have, is that while the hull is out of the water, it is in contact with the bags over a larger area than the bunks of a conventional lift. Some say this leads to the need for a little more cleaning on occasion...but I find that a day of floating around out in the Delta puts more of a grunge line on the boat than sitting on the lift in contact with the bags for weeks.

Raising and lowering seems to take about the same amount of time as a conventional lift, but you do have to pay a little more attention as they fill because you need to fill the three parts evenly.

There is a dealer network you can buy through that will provide installation. I bought direct and did it myself. The first round was a disaster...but only because we didn't follow directions. We thought we 'knew better'. The owner of Airdock is available via cell phone...weekends, holidays, whatever. Support was great as he talked us back through doing things correctly and it has worked perfectly ever since.

You'll need a buddy to do the install and you might get wet...but you can do it from a typical dock/slip/marina.

If you need to pull the lift out for a season, you can suck the air out with a shop-vac and roll them up pretty tight.
