I'm looking at a new X Series with a fiberglass platform. With the fiberglass platforms there are no "transom savers" so what are people using to prevent board scuffs and things like that?

Are there any other types of swim platform/transom saver materials out there? The gator grip is sweet just seeing what else there is.

Just picked up some gator grip from Amazon.com. I googled it and found amazon had it. Several colors and good price. It was $29.99 for a 16"X42" sheet, I bought 2.

I answered my own question. Another kind of material is hydroturf.

It's under the health and personal care section. Do a search under that section or click the link above.

Does the gator grip come with an adhesive backing? I'm interested in how difficult it is to remove. Is it a foam type texture or is it more rubbery?

Thanks everyone!

Hey Guys,

Questions:
1.) Do I have Red Gator Grip, No. I used to carry red but, it tended to fade to pink. I Would rather have a good representation of Gator Grip out there than people thinking that it fades. My experience has shown that reds and yellows tend to fade.
2.) Gator Grip comes with sticky back. Gator Grip sticks really well to any clean smooth surface.
3.) Difficulty in removing. It will come off but, requires some work to get the sticky back off. Do not try to clean with Acetone or anything else until all the sticky back material has been removed and the only thing remaining is glue. Then use Acetone.
4.) The material is a closed cell foam so, it's not rubber but, more like thick pliable foam. It's about 1/4 thick at the bubbles and about 1/8 thick at the base.

With regards to Amazon. It all comes from the same place, just different markets. They have the "Bathroom" colors and most are out of stock. Whereas, I have everything in stock. Plus I have longer lengths.

Yeah, I bought mine on EBAY for 29.99 and saved a lot of money.. The colors are limited but you can usually find what you are looking for eventually, that stuff is awesome though..
