I've been hearing about a lot of Canadians ripping off people. Not just from the wakeboard community but, also from the car community. Not that I have anything against them. I think they are hiding behind the fact that they are from another country so, nobody can really touch them.

The only good thing in canada is St. Catherine Street in Montreal. Best Strip Clubs! (Wanda's)

And in the winter time its Mont Tremblant!

Hey guys, let's please not start an anti-Canada thread. I could retort, since there is so much in America that would give me great fodder, but I won't stoop to your level.

I'll give you that your alcohol percentage is slightly higher than ours such as a smirnoff ice is like 7%.

Not all of us Canadians are dishonest.

Too bad there has to be a few idiots that seem to think it's okay to scam others from another country just because there is very little you can do.

I've bought stuff off of Ebay as well. Nothing really is guaranteed and you have to assume that risk but your odds of receiving what you've bought is better by buying it from a store.

I feel your frustration but please don't hate us all.

Since there has been a few ppl ripped from this kid, has any pressed charges?? Its federal Mail Fraud to do what this kid is/has done. IF you have all his info you can press charges pretty easy, but him being in canada prolly will slow the process. Just thought i would ask.

I have the police involved with Matt Soyka. It appears that I will get my money back in august. It looks like I will have to wait and see. I will let every one know what happens.

I can't believe people would actually slag Canada just because the person who ripped them off happens to be from Canada.I guess you didn't know we're all bunch of thieves up here especially in Whistler.Maybe you should invade us to set us straight

Yeah there good guys. I got to ski a very big day with them a couple of years ago. We also skied a little with Vinnie and Smiley. I would love to ski Bella Coola with you sometime. I got a couple days in Alaska last season with CPG, but mostly I am in Aspen. Which company do you work with? Visit TGR sometime, they have a very active forum. Keep Rippin!

I bet a chunk of those crooks don't even live in Canada. You can put what ever you want as your location. Ex: Bid Now, USA... Come on now, if you were going to rip someone off would you really put your home town? Just m}y $.02

Virtually all of my audio and lighting upgrades were purchases off of Ebay, we're talking onboard speakers, sub, amps, tower speaker cans, tower speakers, and tower light bar. But, I bought every single component through actual companies selling their items on Ebay just to avoid troubles like this. A lot of companies either have stores on Ebay or they just offer their items for sale on Ebay, you can still get great prices on their stuff and there's virtually no fear of getting screwed like this. Just something to consider if you're an Ebay buyer.

I really didnt think that any younger people didnt realize canada is kicking the good ol' US of A's ass on individual freedoms and logical law enforcement. im not proud to be an american anymore i hope all of that changes in the course of my life. the conservative dinosaurs die out eventually and the south will suceed and start its own country... in about 20 years i think america will kick ass, again.

Caution: politically fired up!

Then defect already Benny Boy! You and Alec Baldwin can carpool your way right on out of here if you are feeling a little less than proud for the moment. Just stay over there to the east, the Fenchies will love ya. Just stay out of the west side. I like it there and I don't want you screwing that up with your spineless ideologies.

Although this was supposed to be an Ebay crook thread rather than one for bashin' the good ol' US of A, why don't you share some of your profound wisdom and let us know which of your individual freedoms have been impeded upon so unjustly in your lifetime? Logical law enforcement? What's that all abowute (accent implied)? [No offense Canucks] The thing is that I love Canada and nave several friends from there. They have great healthcare and education programs. If they do let you in up there, see if they'll help you with your grammar skils.

Sean Tribe; Lucky Charms; Goodtimes; any input?

Let's take a poll:
Who wants Ben for a neighbor? I think Mexico will take you before Canada will. Just think, the waters nice and warm down there.}

There's always going to be strong opinions one way or another. Thankfully we still have a little bit of free speech remaining.
If everyone put as much effort into trying to get along with each other rather than trying to be better than someone else, the world would be a much better place.
This is getting off of the main topic so lets all just go wakeboarding and have some fun no matter where you're from.

Sounds good. Back to Ebay,

I just bought a Straight Line handle which was described in excelent condition, guaranteed and everything. When I got it you couldn't even read the brand, and the brip was torn up something fierce. I was pretty annoyed. Nice thing was the seller refunded some cash for the inacurate listing.

Not everyone is a crook. There are some Ebayers out there with real integrity.

I bought all our tower goodies off ebay too, even a few boards, but from actual suppliers with multiple listings. Your always better off buying from someone who has a reputation to uphold. Word of mouth can be just as damaging as it can be positive.

Whats the latest news about Matt Soyka, anyone...mike dega?
Old    1dega            07-21-2004, 7:14 AM Reply
Hi Mango: Matt Soyka update. Matt says someone ripped him off for $16000.00 dollars. And he had to take a real job. Matt says he is going to refund my $390.00 dollars when he gets paid the first week in August. I had the local police talking to him and everyone thinks he will refund my money as planed. All I can do now is wait and see. I will let everyone know what happens next.
