Dual batteries

So I have dual batteries and I was wondering if I could just swap out my battery regulator thing for the perko switch? It's in a great spot and it already has the wiring going to it. So it could be a super easy install.

Don't do that. You'll have charging problems.

What do you mean your battery regulator? Your regulator should be internally in the alternator.

I don't actually know what it's called. It just a very simple looking red thing where my dual batteries attach to the rest of the charging starting system.

Thats a battery isolator. I guess they work, but the only time I had one, I lost both batteries within a year or so. No clue if it was the cause or not.
The Perko works great. But you have to remember to switch it manually.

I would like to replace this with a perko. What wiring does perko use?
