whats the deal with how slow these fill and empty? can you lead me to a form already discussing it.

any suggestions?

they haev only one pump to fill the whole system. There are a few writeups on how to add an additional pump or two. Fairly easy. It's the nature of the design. It's still one of the best designed IMO, but it's slow.

it would be rad to get 3 pumps rolling. or a bigger pump of sorts.

use the search funtion on here.

The pump they curretnly use is as big as yoru gonna get for that application. IMO, the best way is to just drill antoher hole int eh bottom of the boat, put a scoop on, and connect the new pump up into the solenoid for the front bag. This way the front bag has it's own pump and the rear bags share one pump.

Near the bottom I have some pics and a description of what I did which was add a second pump. It is wired up to work exactly the same as stock except now you have one pump for the front and one pump for the rears.

These are pretty big pumps (2000gph) but the irrigation valves really need some pressure to open up completely. Mine easily fills up twice as fast now and probably even faster than that. I have the 1150 bag in front and two 900s in the rear that I fill about 3/4s.

The stock bags are 650 in front and 400's in the rear, so YES.

Dave, what year 22ssv are you referring to because my stock bags in the rear were around 250lbs each before I upgraded to the GG sacs.

My link above takes you to my 08 22SSV Impressions post. So, I am referring to 07 and up 22SSVs that have a total of 1450 stock. I have an 08.

The older 22SSVs would no way support an 1150 in the front and 900's in the rear due to being shorter, narrower and shallower.

Ryan, the stock bags in my GG edition were 250 each -- i upgraded to the GG sacs that are 465 each... when full the compartment is full doubt any much more would go....

i believe he is referring to the newer 22ssv (hull changed in 07')

The real question is which one is the original poster asking about. Either way, the pump system is the same (one pump feeding a manifold with 3 sprinkler valves).

a 2008 ssv 22. it says it has 1450 of ballast. but they seem small.

They look smaller because Supra put in a flatter, longer bag that extends further up the hull of the boat, to keep from filling the entire storage bins when you're running loaded.

You can find the bag sizes on the serial numbers of the bags. Serial number for a 19x19x50 bag would be XXXXXXX191950

Weight of water per cubic inch = 0.036127

The stock rear bags are 10x16x70. (10*16*70*.036127) = 404.6 lbs.

The stock front bag is 19x19X50 = ~650lbs

What I installed into my 22SSV:
The stock front bag for the 24SSV is 19x19x88 = ~1150lbs.

I have custom bags from by 24SSV that I use in the back that are 19X19X70 = ~900lbs.

I normally don't fill the rear's all the way however it is nice to have that big bag back there for when I experiment with wakesurfing.

what engine are you guys running, the 325, 340, 6.0 or 8.1? due any of you guys running 3000+ lbs of ballast have any trouble getting out of the hole

I have the 340 with the wakeboard prop and have no trouble getting out of the hole with heavy weight. I adjusted the auto wakeplate engage to a higher rpm when running close to 3000 lbs. It makes it easier to get up on plane quicker.

340 here too and wakeboard prop and have no problems what so ever getting out of the hole regardless of the weight up to 3000.

The stock pump is 5 or 6 hundred gal/hr. My bow sac pump went out. So I bought a 1100 gal/hr pump. I put the new 1100 gal/hour pump as the fill pump and moved the original fill pump to empty the bow sac. I noticed great difference in fill time. Never had any slow empties. Each sac has it's own pump. Mine is empty before I reach the ramp even on short trips.

I had some ballast problems this year. First, I sucked in some trash early in the year. I took the fill line off while it was running and guuush, water and trash blew out. Hooked it back up and it was fine. Secondly, my rear left sac kept filling on its own while turned off. I took the top off of the 3 valves at the fill pump and cleaned out more trash. That fixed all my problems.

wicked ryan. do you notice the bags always get air in them? it's kind of a pain.

i tried to get some of the air out like with normal sacks...... but the drain or extra fitting is on the bottom side of the sack. anyone else have this problem.

Adam, I just flip the bags upside down so the 3rd valve is on top.
