I was just wondering if anyone knows about the scene in Charlotte N.C. I am thinking about moving there from PA at the end of the summer.
I graduated with a journalism degree in December and I am wanting to move south. no jobs where I am at plus its to damn cold in the off season.

yah man i live in charlotte...it's pretty straight...two different good lakes to ride on (Norman and Wyle)- you'll like it

its a small scene but its ight! my lake is wylie and theres a good bit of wakeboard boats out there when ever i go out....but it is nice only a few months that the water is to cold to ride without a drysuite on.... when you thinking about coming down? right now is not a great time to find a job down here....

I also live on Wylie and there is plenty of good water during the week. You have to go up river to find decent water on the weekend. I've got my crew of 4-6 riders, so I don't really know about the rest of the "scene". You can find a job if you are motivated enough...

I am looking to move after the summer, Probably september october. As of now I am working as an assistant photographer, and freelance writer, while bartending on the side. just tryin to save up money and get some experience before I move. Thanks for the write backs. You guys will have to take me for a pull if I move down.

I'm moving to North Carolina in August for school; in Montreat and was also wondering about the wakeboarding scene.

LKN has a pretty good scene with all kinds of boat dealers nearby and tons of people with boats. there are also about 5 bars/reserants on the lake that are pretty popular.

Right Now the water is around 72 and during the summer the water gets to about 95.

ya the lake down here is not cold at all!!! right now its nice! bout 3 months it will be like hot bath water!! for sure tho move here its so nice the mountains are 2-3 hours away the beach is 2 hours and there are some nice lakes! but fyi THERE IS NOWHERE to winch!! haha sorry that was me ventin!

There is also High Rock Lake in the Charlotte-Metro Region (not near as developed or populated). Mountains are two hours away to the west, beaches are anywhere from 3.5 to 6 hours from Charlotte.
