How far will/do you drive to ride?

Just wondering what the avarage drive time people are putting in. Local lake is just about dried up, so I went to Engelbright Lake about 1 hour 15 min away.

An hour and a half each way, every single time I ride.

omg that a long trip i have 2 choices to drop my boat first is 10 minutes and second 20 minutes i always choose the first one because the seconds seems too far hahaha

Twenty minutes each way for me, not that bad. The good news is I keep my boat in storage about two minutes from the launch ramp.

We're set up about like Paul (drive 25 min...boat 2 min from ramp). I used to haul my boat 50 min each way....but I would cheat and take it to work with me in the morning and go straight from there...saved some precious daylight.

5 minutes down to the boat launch

10 minutes...and i dont have to lauch a boat.

1 hour for the best lake, 30 for a good lake, 5 for a private but crowded lake.

i have about 5 different lakes that are all 5-10 minutes away. if i'm willing to drive 15-20 minutes i have about 20 different lakes to choose from.

45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic each way for the local lakes. anywhere from 5 to 10 hours for something nicer lakes.

From the time I leave the house to getting the boat, gassed up and down to the lake.. probably 75 mins. And we are pretty efficient and have a system for everything.. SUCKS! Its like a 50-60min drive involved.

It used to take me 5 minutes to get to our local lake, but it closed down.

Now we drive 40 minutes each way to Clementine.

15 Minute drive to the private lake where we are the only ones.

normally 50 minutes, yesterday 1 hour 45 minutes for a private lake.

15-20 from the house. I wish I was closer but it's not too bad. 3 other lakes are within 45 minutes or so.

last yr i drove an hour each way i heavy traffic. this yr my journey is a bit shorter its about a 15 foot walk to my hoist and a 5 min drive to fast water.

10 min first choice
20 min second choice
20 min 3rd choice
45 min 4th 5th choice

40-60 Minutes.

I have 3 choices, all are about 45 mins away.

I drive 100 miles every Friday to get to my lake during the summer. It's a 2.5 to 3 hour drive.

When winter comes around I drive about a hour and a half to get to the Delta.

We live 45min from where our boat is moored. It’s a 1.5 hour round trip if we want to ride.

It’s totally worth it though as its mainly flat out there. Any closer to our city is totally chopped out.

You guys laugh at Michigan, but at any given time, pretty much no matter where you are in the state, you are never more than about 15 minutes from a lake. Within a one hour radius, I'd say you usually have 20 or more lakes to choose from.

i cross the street to get to the boat ramp and i hate every minute of it. its even worse when i need to drive the mile out of town to go and get gas. haha im truly greatful i dont have to drive far. thats got to be a killer on gas driving 100 miles while towing a boat

1 hour each way from SoCal. It could be 5 minutes if the OC water district didn't have a no human contact rule to its lakes.............

Maybe a minute. I have to walk about 75yds to the dock.
If I don't go on our lake, theres like 20 lakes within 15mins.

I should of mentioned the boat stays at the lake. The truck gas is still a killer though.

2 minutes from my indoor bike and skatepark to have my boat in the Petaluma River........

i live on a lake, MINNESOTA FTW again

the lake is down the street, so about 5 minutes to the ramp

when the lakes open.. leave house to storage to lake 1 hour including gasing up

to hit the river is house to storage to gas to river 20 mins

i prefer the lake morning glass is great, but the river has food... hahaha its a toss up

Lanier is 1 hour each way. I go there when I want to also visit my family or ride with friends who live in the area.

Hartwell is 30 minutes each way. It's a lot less crowded and a lot closer but I have a harder time getting a crew together for Hartwell. It usually ends up being my wife and kids and maybe one or two friends if they weren't out drinking too late the night before.

however fast it takes me to walk from my house down the hill to my dock... about 20seconds

3 min to hook up the trailer, 30 seconds drive to the ramp.

typically about 15 mins. 30 to go out in a friends boat on a different lake and 3 hours during the winter

Drive 30 minutes to my parents house where the boat is kept, then 15 minutes to the launch. We ride mostly on weekends and I tend to say around my parents house on the weekends.

It depends on where I ride. 15 minutes to Folsom, 30 minutes to the Sacramento River, and an hour to an hour and a half to the various spots on the delta that I launch.

15 miles to Shasta but only 5 miles from work.
15 miles to Whiskytown

A little over 2 hours to the cottage but then all I have to do is walk out to the boat on the lift to ride.

15 min to the boat. 5 min to the ramp. I fill up the boat on the way home from riding to save time when I'm heading out the next time ;-)

1 hour to get to my lake.

although i am on vaca in table rock and guna hit up KC tomorrow.. 3 1/2 hours plus i got drive back as soon as i ride. wooooh!

4+ hours or 255 miles, including driving through NYC. But its my 'rents cabin so i stay for the weekend, clean out moms fridge and drink all my dads beer. Its worth it.

40min to OWC. Or 15 sec to the dock in my back yard.

takes me about 3 minutes to walk down the stairs in the back yard to my boat...i have alot of stairs. 3.5 hour drive to my parents cottage up north and my other boat. I love michigan.

8min to get to the boat, 1min to get to the ramp - I love it

Boat is stored at my parents...5 Mins from my condo to their house...then maybe 5 minutes from then to the water, stays hooked up to the truck during boating season...Gotta love it...the other lake is about 7 minutes away, its smaller and never busy, but always colder...

We normally ride the Sacramento river. I google mapped it and it is 8mi from my driveway to the ramp. It takes us roughly 15min depending on if we have to stop for gas.

Otherwise, we do 3-4 trips to Shasta each year. 3 hours one way.

10 minutes to Folsom. Around 30 minutes to the Sac. 45 minutes to Clementine. Hour to the Delta. Forever and a day to the Colorado River. And sometimes, just sometimes, I like to drive 8 hours to tempt my chance at fate and wakeboard with the amoebas at Lake Elsinore.

35 Minutes to the marina where the boat is at or 35 minutes to Texas Ski Ranch. Really not bad at all, I ride both of them in equal amounts. I really love that variety of boat or cable, but I actually like the cable more because i progress more.

Closest to boat storage but 3rd choice 20 mins
River...2nd choice, 25-30 mins plus ride up river
Eagle Lake, MS 1hr 20 min.. but worth for a long day!

40 mins to the river. Hour to the lakehouse where it's too blown out to ride on the weekends

I'm a weekend warrior but hopefully that changes when I buy a boat early next year. Currently I drive 2 hours to my parent's lake house on Lake Cumberland but I stay all weekend. They are 10 minutes from the boat ramp.
