I wish Wakeworld had yearly nominations for for random awards. Most liberal, most trollish, biggest ownership goggles, best ban, ect. Wes should get biggest Christain because, ironically, he starts more threads about religion than anyone on here.

Guys, did you even look at the link in Wes's post (I am not taking up for everyone of his posts, but I am this one). This has nothing to do with hating God, it's those nuts from the Westboro Church.

Are you guys taking up for the kooks in Kansas?

Yes, I read it before my first post and I think I answer for all when I say no I am not taking up for the people of Church X. Our comments are directed towards something other than the content of this thread.

I see it as Wes lumping all Christians in with these deranged zealots.

If you just ignore the word "extreme" that's in the title twice, I could see your point.

Lol if you can't see the humor in this story then you really need help, people. And who in their right mind would hate god?

Extremely sensitive Christians ITT. Careful Wes.

I can totally see the intended humor in the story but was it meant to be passed of as such?
Old     (wakeboardern1)      Join Date: Aug 2007       07-27-2010, 7:27 AM Reply
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was trying to be passed off as humor... And I usually don't agree with Wes, Jeremy, or John, hahaha.

Lets not forget that when Jesus was here 2000 years ago he called the religious leaders hypocrites. So even though someone may call themselves a Christian the Bible actually says straight is the way and narrow is the gate and few there be that find it.

Interpretation? Many are called but few are chosen. These idiots from this Kansas church are just making fools of themseleves and the religion they propose to represent. As sad as it is, the artice is humorous because it's so pathetic. Talk about spewing hatred, all one has to do to know weather someone represents a certain religion is trace it back to it's founder. Jesus came to serve not to be served, when he met the women at the well who had 5 previous husbands and currently living with a man, Jesus simply siad, go and sin no more, he did not condemn her.

"Religion is like your genitals, don't whip it out in public and don't shove it down your kids throat."

Flight007 - I couldn't agree with you more. I also find it interesting that most non-believers tend to lump all believers in with the most fanatical or misguided of the faith.

Wes, for someone who makes a post about not whipping out religion in public you sure tend to not follow your own advice on a regular basis.

^Probably the same reason that non-Muslims lump all Muslims "in with the most fanatical or misguided of the faith".

^^^^ Agreed.

I tend to find that most believers claim they are the one's who most closely adhere to the principles of their religion. The exception being the people who believe but don't participate in religion beyond believing.

Richard, when did I whip my religion out in public? I must have missed it.
