Word on the street is Dowdy has three different wake to wake double inverts. You get to see a couple of them (cut off) in this teaser. One of them looks to be a double backroll to blind. Although I'm not sure that's the best name for it. If he can land them on tour, he'll give Harley a solid run for his money.

Go Mike!

Dang the last double looked awesome. Should be an interesting tour this year.

Wow, Dude has some serious ups. Looks like he grabbed both doubles and double grabbed the last one. Sick.

Ya Jarrod your right on the money. HS Backroll to blind with another backroll. May as well start calling it the "Dowdy Dirty Double" ha. If anyone is still saying the G23 isn't a game changer just look at what is going down lately. Crazy! KGB double is next!

Good! Harley could use some good competition.

With all those doubles on lock, he should try making a method look good. with that being said, the doubles looked really cool

Seriously? The method police? What is wrong with that nasty glided out method? Is it because it's not the same as Randall Harris' or Trever Maur's method? I mean really...it's a trick that is designed for you to put your own flair on it, which is what the Method enthusiasts love...unless its not their preferred flair. Then "that rider doesn't know how to do a PROPER method."

If you really want to get into it, it was grabbed wrong, and floated out the back

What a method is supposed to look like

It was a method glide though.

And Dowdy's looks just like R. Derome's, which took third place in that contest you posted.

jarrod, thank you.

Riley, you are proving my point...

"What a method is supposed to look like"...according to you? Are you now a part of Alliance's Grand Wakeboard Council that decides what is cool and what isn't?

"....floated out the back" what's wrong with that?

If any of you can't tell, it drives me insane when people (including Alliance) try to tell people how to wakeboard. There is no right or wrong way. Sure we can scoff at board slaps and low tricks with sketchy landings, for example, but who is anyone to say the way one rider pokes a grab is "wrong" and the way another grabs is "right?" Ridiculous. These critics are the same people that hate when people like Phil Soven do textbook tricks with no grab and tell them to "put some style on it and make it their own." Then they make it their own but not to the critics' liking so they declare it "wrong."

Method looked good to me. Grabbed between the legs, did the shifty and poked the bag leg. I don't see anything wrong with floating it a bit. It was Greenwood-esque. Are we going to now suggest that BG does them wrong? To my eye the floated out the back version is more consistent with the way its done on a skate or snow half pipe. I say that because if you watch Terje Haakonsen or Tony Hawk do a method air, they're able to get a lot more extension of the upper torso than what you see on a flat wakeboard method ala Jeff Mckee or Mike Ennen - don't get me wrong, they both have great methods, but I bet Mike Ennen's looks a little different and more extended on snow. It's just different on a wakeboard because of the whole line tension and handle issues to deal with. You don't have freedom to do it the way you would on a skate or snow board, unless of course you're a boss like Colin Harrington and you can grab with the handle in hand. Either way, this kid seems to be bringing the goods and has nowhere to go but up. Wish him well.

so stoked to see the rest tomorrow. That last double was insane... grabbed with style. Doubles almost always look so rushed (except harleys indy double tantrum) but Mike is making them look really good. This years tour should be a great one.

Agreed.

I figured once double inverts started to becoming the norm they would look awful, but man-o-man that was pretty.

That is insanity. What is he gonna call that? Not really a Double r2b, but no other name really works. The fact he grabs it late is nuts!

I love his super off axis double grab HS 7 too. Crazy looking trick that noone else does

Between Harley, Phil and Dowdy, this year's KoW is going to be insane. Maybe it finally will be something other than the Harley and Phil show.

Just WOW! That's all I can say right now.... except for this: Dear Nautique, I have a boat length limit I have to adhere to, so can you please make a G21? Oh, I also have no desire to pay $90+ for a wakeboat, so if you could make it for $60-65 with a trailer, I would appreciate it.

Anyone know how this G was weighted in this vid? I'd imagine is pretty ballasted up over stock.....wake is stoooooopid big.

Wow. This angle just makes the wake look ridiculous. I would love to take a cut at that thing.

Friend that works at Nautique says that Dowdy does 750's in the rear tanks and 1200 up front.

Wow wow wow! After seeing this vid I can't imagine all the g23 haters having anything bad to say about it's wake now. I've heard many trying to say the G wake is just big but had no lip or pop to it. Looked like it has crazy crazy pop to it in this vid!

All depends how you ride, Ron. Its a huge wake but it is a big waiting game. Average Joe won't go higher on a G23. Average intermediate to advanced rider won't go that much higher on a G unless they ride it all the time IMO...

I wonder if anyone has "maxed out" a G yet 2700 on top of a 2850 stock system for sure is insane, but people with 5k in old Xstars so it doesn't sound unbelievable that the G could take more having more freeboard, huge engine etc.

I've maxed out my G23 w/ the 450 (pretty much the same setup that Dowdy is riding). I know Murray and another guy at Nautique spent a day or two playing with the ballast setup last winter using the XS550 engine, and they thought that the sweet spot is what myself, Dowdy and others are currently riding. I do know that a few of the pro's ride with another 750 on the rear floor and a 750 up near the driver. I have no experience with that much weight, so cannot comment on what it's like (the 450hp engine can't handle that much ballast). However, I do have the XS550 arriving in a week or two and once the ice is gone you can rest assured that I'll be out there trying to find, what I think, is the best setup for me.

I can tell you as an intermediate rider myself, you do go much bigger, within one session, behind a G. I think the biggest thing is that you are riding slower, and for a guy like me, that gives me the confidence to still attack the wake. I definatly felt like I had much more time in the air to complete tricks, grab, etc.

Obviously if you are a "I saw the fins" wakeboarder, the G wake sacked out might not be right.

I haven't seen riding that technical or impressive in very long time.

What is that thing in 2:20 even called?
http://www.alliancewake.com/wake/mik...y-makes-moves/

When I can't name a trick I know it's bananas.
Heelside double grab stalefish mobe double backroll?
Something like that? Holy s**t.
EDIT: ok I see the other thread now. it's not a mobe then but holy bananas there is a lot going on in that trick.

It's kind of funny to see ads for the 210 in G23 drool threads. It's a great boat but I see it and go ..heh...
