I would like to have some tower speakers that I can hear when I wakeboard. My boat currently has 2 jobe addict bullet speakers and no amp. One of the speaker cones is torn and needs repair. At present you can't hear at all when riding. The speakers are apparently rated at 120W max. If I repaired the torn one and got an amp would I hear these while riding?

If not what is the best way to go? I don't have wet sounds money unfortunately and am based in the UK so choice is limited a bit by that. Is it worth buying 2 more speakers and an amp that can handle my current 2 plus another 2. Do 4 reasonable output speakers on a good amp give more sound than 2? Or are you better getting just 2 higher rated speakers on their own? Any reccomemdations?

What is your budget? I suggest looking for used HLCD's if you want to hear riding and get rid of your old speakers. 2 quality HLCD's will be better than 4 regular speakers. There is a set of Pro80's for $300 in the classified section. If not I would wait and save up till you can get something you will be happy with.

You CAN hear two pair of conventional 6.5" coaxials on an external amplifier at wake range with engine noise in your face. But you will NOT be satisfied because of how distorted and inarticulate it will be. If the real goal is wakeboarding projection then you have got to have one pair of larger HLCDs (8-inch) with an honest 250 watts per side. Either buy used or wait and save.

Check out the kicker 6500.2 HLCD's. Great sounding speakers and can be heard way back. Also pricing is more on par if you don't have wetsounds kind of money.

My buddy bought them on eBay from liquid audio in the double cans for 440.00 last year and 215.00 for the kicker zxm350.4. Seems like a lot less than a 1000.00. There are deals to be had. You just have to look.
