I am in the process of opening a new division to my company and was considering buying a mailing list of property owners/managers and such to add to the list of 4000 I already have. We have done mailings for years and have been pretty successful with it, so thought I would try it. Anybody have experience with any of these services or tried buying one off the web? Seems like it could be pretty sketchy.

There are a million companies that sell lists. I work with a bunch of them. We by from a company out of Austin called Reachforce. Very expensive, but the data is current and accurate. Not sure if they serve your industry but they might be worth a call.

We do commercial heating/air conditioning and adding sheet metal fabrication in California. We would like to pursue some new developers, property managers and such.

JRod- I'll check it out.

I work for a publication printer, and we buy mail lists occasionally. Like Jarrod said there are millions of list companies out there, and most will give you the same results. You should be able to put in certain criterias, for example household incomes, number of people, businesses with revenues of x amount, businesses with x amount of employees and on. Just make sure the list you are buying is NCOA linked which is the National Change of Address, that helps cut down on undelivered mail thus making your list more accurate. I would assume you are working with a printer, and if they are mailing this for you they should be doing the NCOA anyways and helping you buy the list.

Shoot me an email if you need any help i would be glad to help.
