Has anybody used a 2014 obrien nalu pro or celsius? I'm currently using a friends Ronix stage 5"4 and not sure I want to spend a lot on a new board. Just reading the description they both sound good and the price is in my budget. I'm looking for something a little more aggressive than the stage. Are one of these boards worth trying or should I save up a by a better board.
Thanks

Between the two choices you listed above. I would get the Obrien Nalu Pro. Pretty much either choice will be better than the Ronix Stage. For just a little more than the Obrien Nalu Pro, you can get a Triple X Composite X board. I know a place you can get one brand new for $325 shipped. Any choice you make will be an improvement over the Stage though.

The triple x boards have always intrigued me. Whats the weight range of the composite x?

My daughter ride the 2014 nalu pro and loves this board. It is pretty loose and very fast.

Bill,

I am not sure the weight range. I purchased mine for my gf. I bought her the 52" and I don't have a problem riding it. I do suggest buying a larger fin for it. The A6 fin that comes on it makes the tail extremely loose. In my opinion, the board definitely rides better than the LF TC custom, it is cheaper too.

I've had 4 boards. Obrien alias ( tank ) , LF Noserider ( another tank ) a Ronix Cortez ( surprisingly my current favorite) and a Shredd Stixx Stixxteme ( not good for me but my kids love it ). I dont have any way to demo boards near me except for a local brand ( lakewakes ) so its a hit and miss kind of thing, just a little tired of missing. I'm going to try to demo some of the lakewakes boards when we get back from vacation over the labor day week. Got over a grand invested in crappy boards already though so the wifey might not be too open to me getting more yet. Prob need to get rid of at least 2 prob 3 before i get another one.

I know what you mean. I am lucky enough that I got to try a few boards after I made my third wakesurf board purchase. My friend has a Triple X composite X that I got to try. I actually learned how to throw the rope with it. Even after I learned how to surf and got tried multiple boards, I still like the Triple X composite X enough that I bought it. I will probably stick with it till I break it.

If you call Obrien they will send you a variety of fins for the Nalu pro. Our fin broke so I called them and they sent the original plus 4 more of varying sizes all free of charge. My daughter is 5'5" and 115. She ride the 4'8" I am 6'2" 190 and I can also ride it no problem. When I say ride it I mean surf it without the rope.
