Picked up a used D300 earlier this week. I shot film 15+ years ago...but am totally new to digital. Driving down 160 in the delta today I stopped by Sherman Island looking for anything interesting to shoot for the first time. This old barn across the river with sidelighting looked pretty cool...so I took some shots. D300 with 55-200 AF-S VR Zoom Shot by hand at 100mm ISO 320 f4.5 at 1/200s I was a little disappointed by the vignetting (what should I have expected with a $250 lens) of the zoom at 100mm...and tried to correct it in CaptureNX. I also did a little color correction and desaturation. Overall...I am pretty impressed with what this camera could do with very little experience on my part. Looking forward to taking some action shots as things warm up. (Message edited by kitewake on January 03, 2009)
