Thanks to Garrett, Justin, and Jarret for a really fun day today at Lake Elsinore. About 72 degrees and no wind, well at least until afternoon. Plenty of boats out for a Monday though, but I guess we weren't the only ones that decided to enjoy the holiday out on the lake.
This was Justin's first time wakeboarding. Here he is learning to get up.
He was stoked to get up and start riding, as you can tell from the look on his face.
That didn't last long and he took a couple of nice faceplants, but he didn't let that or the 54 degree water slow him down.
Garrett was riding smooth and going big, really nice floaty 360's too.
Jarret just recently got back from Iraq (he's a Marine) and has only ridden once in the last year or so, but he hasn't forgotten how to ride.
With just a little coaching he was even landing his backrolls, nice and big with solid landings.
Next we did a little wakesurfing, which Jarret and Justin had never tried. They picked it up quickly and had a blast.
Garrett couldn't resist jumping in for a quick surf too, even though he had to go backside - and it's his boat! (Thanks Garrett
)
Riding switch on the Phase 5 proved to be a little more work, and a lot more water up the nose
Wakesurfing was a easy for Justin after learning to wakeboard earlier in the day. Here he shows off by tossing the rope and doing some carving.
All in all a great day, lots of fun and great company.
