Can anyone give me a report on the water level after the storm?

Tim - Astor is already above flood stage.

From news today:
"The St. Johns River is under the gun for flooding," Local 6 meteorologist Eric Wilson said. "(It's) not just today but for the next seven days because 10 inches of rain have fallen (north of the river) and 20 inches of rain have fallen (south of river). It takes days for it to percolate."

Astor was already over flood stage at the St. Johns River and has been forecasted to get even higher.

The lesson for anyone who reads this is that if your away, even for a long weekend, pull your boat up as high as possible. A couple times I figured I'm three feet over the water, how much could the water come up before I'm back. I had someone check on my place. The water is now 8" from the bottom of the lift. Thank goodness I cranked it up high before I left last time.

I'm going to take note of the flood stage so I know what's happening from the published water level reports.

For the St Johns near Astor, minor flooding is occurring, with a stage of 3.6
feet at 10 PM Sunday. At 2.8 feet, minor flooding to homes and businesses in low
lying areas along the river. At 2.5 feet, water begins to cover docks at south
moon Fish Camp. Water begins to move into yards in low lying areas along the
river.

Does anyone know if the water is making it to the chain in Clermont? We have a boathouse with nothing under it except sand. It would be nice to have a boat in there this winter. Thanks.

Its kind of funny to drive around the lake and see a boat in the cradle and the water is about 20' behind the boat. Of course its only funny until you haven't used your boat in a couple weeks only to find the lift needs to go down another 18" to float.

Sounds like a good opportunity to wax the bottom and look for lost jewelry.

Get our your shovels and dig a trench. If everyone else is in the same position you will have the lake to yourself. You can then ask everyone else, who's the contractor who built that? Or, hey cheap-ass, did you buy your dock by the foot?
