I'm in the process of building a kicker right now.
I'm about half way done, and i'm trying to find a
good source of flotation for this thing. I've got
two barrels at the front, but I was thinking of using a little foam at the other end of the kicker. Anyone have a good ideal of how to get
some foam. I know they make the spray can stuff,
but I think that wil take about 50 cans to do
anything. I was also thinking about the stuff
they sell at the Marine supply stores that you
mix together, but that stuff isn't to cheap either. $60 for a cubic foot.
Just exploring some options. Thanks for the help.

I had a problem finding AB foam while rebuilding my Nautique. All the boat dealers wanted to charge $140 for two gallons (one gallon A, one gallon B. Has to be mixed, so you have to have both). A buddy of mine talked to one guy that did boat repairs and he said to go to this certain taxidermist shop. Said it was the same exact foam. Went to the taxidermist and bought it for $30 a gallon ($60 bucks). It will do quite a lot. So to make a long story short, check your local taxidermist.

Cool, I actually know a taxidermist, so that might work. Thanks,

FYI - your local lake may require the foam to be encapsulated (enclosed). I'm not sure from your description if you where planning on filling a container with the foam or just using it bare.

Of course your local lake may not allow a slider anyway :-) So you may not care about being out of compliance on the foam issue. Good luck.

Some Home Depots have large buckets of 2 part foam. Mix it up and pour it.

Yeah, I checked home depot last night. No 2 part foam.

Try "Great stuff". It's foam in a can, for filling cracks. That stuff is crazy. You spray out a quarter sized drop and the next thing you know it's expanded to the size of a basketball. I'm just not sure if it floats.

Rob, check this out. Don't know the cost but this is the way to do it.
