I am going to get more serious about boarding this summer and was just wondering about wearing a knee brace. I don't have any knee problems but was wondering if it is a good idea to start off wearing one to maybe help prevent future damage. And if it is a good idea, should I wear one on one knee or both knees?

wearing a brace is not a bad idea but if you just hit the gym a few days a week and work out your legs you should be fine, keeping your legs in good condition is key

sometimes wearing knee braces can hurt you. i don't wear them when i wakeboard but wear braces on both knees when i ride moto cross. i know that when riding moto cross if you crash and have a lot of force put on your knees and have the knees braces full extended it can actually snap your upper or lower leg. i don't think that would happen in the water because theres room for your leg to move through the water so that presure wouldn't be put on your leg. if i were you i would just start riding a bike a couple days a week. it really helps to make your knees stronger.
