What prop do you have now?

Don't know for sure, but I would guess you have the 14.25 x 14 OJ. If so, you problably won't do any better with another prop.

You could always call OJ or ACME and they would tell you your options. Both companies do a good job and will work with you to get you what performance you want (within the engine's power and size of the boat).

Probably not going to get any better than the stock one. The size should be a 14.25 X 14.5 120 cup.

Rodney, The 14 X 22 should be the right prop for the 8.1 big block.

Kris,

I thought that the xstar and larger boats used the 14.25 x 14 while the smaller boats used the 14.25 x 14.5.

asa007,
Look on the center of the prop and see what size it is. It is stamped around the shaft. If it is the 14.25 x 14.5, you could go down to the 14.25 x14 to give you more power coming out of the hole but you will give up top speed.

you will never tell a difference between the 14.25x14.5 and 14.25x14 -- the difference is barely noticeable on paper, much less in a boat--at best go w/ more diameter--
